The red dashes are for the two Fuel Economy pages. They are almost the same - the only difference is that one of the pages has instantaneous MPG on it and the other one doesn't. Where is the PCV valve in the 5th gen 5.7 L ?
I changed mine out at 80K miles. That turns out to be less than $10 per 10K miles so not a bad run.- brian42

Some other thoughts: 1. Is anything else in your pocket with you? I do know that other electronic devices can interfere with the signal (e.g. cell phone) but they may also help alter signals that might cause your issue. Bed covers
I had a soft tri-fold and loved it. Easy remove (2 minutes to remove and 5 minutes to install), no drilling/mounting, easy to carry (15 lbs maybe), and easy to clean (wipe it down with some 303 every couple of months), and was not very expensive. Smog Issue
You apparently need a lot of driving to set all the monitors. Looks like there are two that are the longest to set. A Google search showed that some took 1000 miles before all the monitors were set. Many recommend getting a scan tool to monitor the flags. I have used drive cycle procedures...- brian42

The gen 4.5 HD trucks have the module behind the instrument cluster. Not sure about 4th gen trucks (LD or HD).
