Thanks for the info, but Im just wanting to add some lower frequencies to my existing system so dual 10" subs would suit my needs. I already have a professional audio system company that I run for concerts and events as a living, My ears need to rest sometimes. lol
Could very well be coming from your hvac system. Do you have cabin air filter behind your glove box? Does the sound get any louder when the AC, Heater, Defrost is turned on? Could be a stuck actuator door in your hvac system.
Looking at upgrading my sound system for my truck and wanting to apply 1 or possibly 2 subwoofers (10" are fine) to my existing aftermarket Alpine headunit.
What are some good performers out there with drop in sub boxes?
I dont recommend getting air shocks only because the lower brackets where the shocks get bolted too on the axle aren't designed to carry the additional load of the vehicle, especially is you place any type of load in the rear.
The rear is typically 2" +/- inches taller than the rear. I would...
Looking to see if there are any upgrades that can be performed on these transmissions?
I have a 14' with nearly 200k on the original tranny. I drive on average 35-42k per year, 25% of the time I'm towing a 7x14 enclosed trailer with weighing roughly 3500-4k lbs loaded up and down the state...
I do have the remote SINGLE oil filter setup on my truck from Pac Brake, makes changing those filters A LOT easier.
I'll have to try out the Royal Purple filter you had mentioned.
One thing I thought however, with adding TOO much pressure, I almost wonder if that would introduce oil blowby and...
At idle I'm currently averaging 35psi with the engine averaging at 203 degrees.
On the highway around I'm averaging 48psi with the RPM's around 1700
That's with 5w30 AMSOIL with a WIX XP filter.
Hey there,
Sorry I chime in every once in a while, but yes I did see your reply post, thank you..
I'm currently running 5w30 AMSOIL with a WIX XP filter. Just performed the oil change Monday evening.
My replacement engine has close to 35K miles on it. (Truck has 198K)
Well if it's any constellation, I do drive a lot.. Typically pulling in on average of 38-45k a year. So having this replacement engine with a 4 years of unlimited mileage is what I like. Do I sit in idle? I truly try not to do that unless I get caught in traffic somewhere in town, Drive faster...
Struts/Shocks NEVER get any better as time/mileage goes on, so getting them replaced is the best and only option. 100k+ on ANY struts is a lot, just install new ones, your tires, your suspension components and your wallet will thank you later. ;)
I forgot to reply back on this topic so my apologies to anyone having this issue..
It ended up being a FAULTY Belt tensioner and belt that was causing the issue. Somehow the tensioner was going back and didn't have the correct tension this the belt was glazing over the pulleys and "slip" which...
