Never serviced the transmission. Wow statement
First off the thump could be a U joint. The heating could be a clogged filter in the transmission. I have never heard of anyone not servicing there transmission before.
As far as the clanking sound check to see how much play you have in the rear-end. Check your U-Joints on your driveshaft. Those gaskets are reusable unless you broke the gasket while taking it off. When you pulled the cover were any of the bolts looser than the others.
Instead of all that just make sureyour batteries are disconnected it shuts down the electronics. Wire welder usually doesn't have that kind of effect. But if you were using a stick welder that would be different. Do you have enough room to place a set of vice grips.
I have a question to some of the service techs that are on here. I have a 2013 Ram 3500 and was just reading about the Killer Bolt on a Cummins motor. Is that with the 5.9 or the 6.7 and how easy is it to fix before it breaks and ruins my motor to start out with.. And where would I even find...
Once you have shavings in the oil pan they have travelled all through the engine. Time for a complete break down or crate motor replacement my opinion.
Be prepared for a stiffer ride with the Bilstein's. I had a friend replace his stock to Bilstein's since there one of the top of the line struts. That was his biggest complaint.
As far as the trucks are concerned it is what ever the person wants. I find the seats in a ram more comfy than the fords since I will be sitting in them for hours on end while traveling. I enjoy the leg room But I'm 6'6 and 330lbs.
That is true, the only time I had that problem was when I switched from standard full synthetic to Amsoil synthetic. I ended up switching back to the oil I was using.
Have you disconnected your battery and left it unconnected for about a half hour yet. Your going to think I'm nuts but sometimes it re-calibrates the modules. All the electronics in these vehicles can be a nightmare sometimes. What it sounds like is you have a broken wire in the window...
