My '18 periodically throws the alarm for "key fob has left the vehicle" when my wife and I both have our fobs in the truck, and she gets out. (She runs into stores periodically to grab something, leaving me in the truck with the boys...) and even when she gets back in, I have to restart the truck. My fob is in my pocket where it ALWAYS is when I drive, for the last 6 years. I tried replacing the battery in her fob after it did this last time, but I don't think that was the fix, as it wasn't that long ago. I did see some guys saying that the early gen 4's needed an RF hub update, but I assume since those posts are from like 2014/15, that my 2018 would have it already.

She got out this morning to run in and grab a mobile order from Dunkin Donuts, but her fob was in her work bag, in the back seat the whole time.

And I tried opening the passenger door when I got to work and parked (same as when I parked for her to get out for Dunkin), and the truck didn't give a ****. (I reached over and opened the passenger door from the inside, then closed it.)

So it seems to ONLY be when BOTH fobs are in the truck.

And it's fricken annoying, as it means I have to sit with the dinging/the 4 year old asking what the noise is, and risking waking the 7 month old, or restart the truck multiple times.

We are heading from NC to FL today for the weekend, and I know it's going to happen again, and I hate the stealerships at this point, but after just a couple times over 2 years, I'm ready to do whatever to make this stupid behavior stop.

@RamCares any input on an actual fix? If a Dealership can ACTUALLY do something, I'll make an appointment. If this is some "new" thing they haven't seen, I don't want them touching my truck.

EDIT: I have to use the "dead fob" trick to get the truck to start when this happens, even though I KNOW my fob battery isn't dead, if that helps.

Take the battery out of her FOB and put it back in when needed? Another option since it seems to be pairing with her FOB primarily is to swap FOBs with her.
