I’ve read the forums pretty extensively and can not find an answer so I’m posting anew. I’ve had problems with hyper flash since installing Led high and low beams. I’ve been able to solve all errors except left front signal out with alpha obd. After multiple attempts at the fix using different advice in a number of threads I decided must be a bad signal and installed all new oem head light units with led turn and marker lights. This however did not solve the problem. Any thoughts?
2016 Ram 1500 Limited
Alpha OBD settings
High and low beams—led
Tail lamps/brake/reverse —led
Center lamp - led
Fog lamps —led
Park/side markers —led
DRL — dedicated, location optional, led
Side repeaters — led

I’ve tested the wire harness, probe blinks on left signal position, both grounds have continuity, oddly so does left front lighting fault sense.

Any help appreciated.

So, just to clarify, you have installed OEM LED headlamps and only the left side is suffering from a flickering condition? Or, can you better describe this "hyper flash" condition?

IIRC, some of the older trucks can be challenging to get the LED lights functioning correctly.

Have you tried disabling the LED present and selecting HID instead?

This user was successful with using the following settings in AlfaOBD;
CBC Features: LED Low Beam Lamps Present - set to yes
VehConfig 3: High Intensity Discharge Headlamps - set to yes

Thanks for the response.
My model did not come with oem led headlamps in 2016, but the side markers and turn signals were (presumably on a board since they are sealed and not individually replaceable). I purchased a set of spyder oem projector headlight units with preinstalled led turn and side markers (sealed). These units came with installed Bi Zeon bulb and a set of new leds that I swapped in.
The default setting was HID. Have tried it off and now have both HID and LED enabled.

You're most welcome and welcome to Ram Forum.

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer or FCA or Ram

Anything else is considered aftermarket even if the manufacturer of said aftermarket product wants to call themselves OEM-compatible.

So, you have an aftermarket set of Spyder projector LED headlamps.
What is the Spyder m/n?
Have you contacted Spyder for support?

I've seen many successful LED bulb upgrades using specific manufacturers, I have 2 different LED bulbs in high & low beams on my truck but, I have no experience with the Spyder products, sorry.

So, the Spyder headlamps came equipped with Bi Zeon bulbs and you changed them to LED bulbs?

Were these LED bulbs also manufactured by Spyder? If yes, they should be providing you with support to get them functioning. Or, are the LED bulbs manufactured by another company?

Sorry, guess not very specific in my post. The hyper flash is in the left turn signal in the dash console. The turn signal fails to blink, thus the reason I replaced the entire housing unit. Despite brand new housing, and confirmed power and grounds are good, it still will not blink and get a warning message of left blinker out and thus hyper flash.
Additionally to your response, no flickering on any bulb.
Thanks again for help

Ok so let me get this straight ! you are saying that the left side is NOT WORKING at all on the outside of your truck only flashing on dash panel Thus hyper flash ! correct!?

Oops, I missed that 'front-left signal out' in your first post sorry.

So to clarify, you have changed all the lights on the truck to LED.
All lights are functioning properly except the front left signal light?

I trust you have compared the front left signal light programming in AlfaOBD with the working front right signal light, and there's no difference.

Some of the earlier Ram trucks have been problematic with LED upgrades and AFAIK, many users have been required to add a resistor to correct the bulb-out signal.

I know it sounds illogical that the left and right are behaving differently but, I'm not too surprised.

I'll dig around in AlfaOBD when I have time, to see how mine is configured. I have LED front signal lights.

If these LED signal lights were purchased from Spyder, I would ask them about obtaining a set of resistors.

Have you checked the wiring to the left headlight? Not just near the headlight but trace it back to the BCM. I don't have a wiring diagram but another check is for continuity from the BCM to the turn lamp. Does the left rear turn lamp work?

The LED signal markers are not bulb type, the headlight unit comes with them built in and sealed as were the original units.
Best I can find in alpha obd there is no right and left signal settings, only turn signal led yes or no.
I have probed the wire harness and get a normal blink on the probe with the negative connected to the battery, thus indicating there is power to the correct pin of the harness. I’ve also tested both negative wires in the harness and find them to have proper continuity.

If you have verified the wiring to the turn signal lights to be correct, the only remaining option may be to convince the BCM that there is a bulb installed.

And, that takes us back to contacting the light manufacturer about obtaining resistors.

Chances are, that the light manufacturer has already resolved this issue for others, so it can't hurt to ask the question, you might save lots of time and effort.

I gave up on LED's for turn/parking/brake lights. All kinds of fiddling with AlphaOBD and still wound up with hyperflash and "bulb out" messages.

CHMSL, map lights, fog and reverse LED's work fine for me.
