Hi Guys,
I have a new to me 2015 Ram 1500 Limited with the Ramboxes which are just AWESOME! No more junk floating around in my bed, or having a milk crate bungee'd in the bed....

Anyway, my bed is factory spray coated, and I have black powder coated bed rails that looks slightly different than many of the other trucks I see with silver colored bed rails in them. My rails are flush to the top of the bed where the Ramboxes are.

I am looking for Tonneau cover, and I found the BAK BakFlip VP cover which fits with the Rambox and folds into 3 parts. Looks great, but I talked to tech support and they said it won't work with my "black rails, I need the silver ones from Ram." He also said there are NO aftermarket parts for the black rails I have. So I went to the Mopar site, and dont' see any rails listed anywhere...

1. Is this true, there are no parts for the "black rails"?

2. Do I really need the "silver rails"? And if so, anyone know where I can get them, how much, part #'s.... ??

Thanks in advance....!

I have no idea, but I do know my non Ram Box uses H-style clips to attach onto the rails. From that picture it looks like there may not be room for the back side of the clip to slide in.

No clue about the first question but this link will give you options for the silver rails. $263-$268 depending on size.

*EDIT*
Check out this thread.

Possibly the owner of the truck before you took the cover off before he sold it but left the rails on. So maybe an OEM Tri Fold cover might work?

Thanks, that thread is EXACTLY the same issue! I posted in there to see if there is an update. I've been emailing mopar back and fourth over this issue, they seem to be clueless! Isn't MOPAR part of RAM?? I'm new to this whole Ram/Chrysler thing, but I thought mopar is actually just their parts division or something? Seems like they know absolutely nothing about the vehicle....???

They are both aluminum. But the black ones are a different shape. The color is not the problem. ;)

I bought the truck Pre-owned. Apparently the previous owner had the factory Tonnue cover on it, but removed it prior to sale, but left the rails from the factory cover on it.

just found this in another section, seems you are not alone and an explination is provided

Yes, that is the same thread as posted above already. Same issue... I have since found that apparently the factory cover fits it, you just don't install the rails that come with it. BUT, I really want to install the BakFlip cover instead, and need the regular factory rails which are $400 at my local dealer. A bit pricy for a rail that I really don't need.....

Would be nice to find a cheap used pair somewhere.... ?

Have you tried a body shop and asked them to check with LKQ (or whoever their bigger "used/recycled" parts supplier is) to see if they have them from a truck that got parted out yet?

I just ran into the same problem.
I didn't even want the factory flip cover, because I wanted to buy a different type.
Now not only would a bakflip for RAMBOX be $200 more than the regular one, I'd have to go out and buy rails. Sometimes I hate the way dealers order these vehicles.

I ran into this exact problem. After buying and returning the tri-fold tonneau cover that I really wanted (no small task) and that didn't fit because I have the black rails(yes, my truck came with the factory tonneau cover), I just gave up on the idea and am living without a bed cover. I did try to find a factory tonneau cover, but, after weeks of research, could not find one. Businesses that sold Mopar accessories were almost not believing me that there was a difference in having the black rails or the silver rails. This is a problem, basically, without a solution-aftermarket products don't fit and the factory replacement is impossible to find.
