The pilot bushing is dependent on what transmission you have. The 8 speed / Nag 1 / 6 speed manual / RFE were all bolted behind the 5.7 and 6.4. If you have the RFE it uses a differant pilot bushing then the 8 speed does. Look up the pilot bushing for your trucks transmission with the original 5.7,that'll be the one you want
yeah, that’s what I did and I kept getting different results but the one that I posted earlier I believe is the one that I needed for the 8 speed thanks

Congrats, I'd have to hit the lottery for that to happen.
It wasn't a planned trade, took the 2018 1500 in for an oil change, trading wasn't even on my radar, but they wanted it bad lol... only had 25,000 miles on it, paid $39k for it new and they offered me $32k for it, plus bought the extended warranty back and came down 19% on the truck I bought... at that point I couldn't think of a reason to say no, wife's been talking about us getting a travel trailer anyway.

Yeah, don't blame you at all. I pull a 30 ft with my 1500.

Towed this tractor 2 days ago for a friend. Then today oil and filters in prep for a camping trip to Salem, Mass pulling the toyhauler.
Tight yard, best pic I could get. Made the truck look even goofier. Lol

Congrats above on your 2500. Just in time for all the RV shows coming up.

I haven't tried that particular one, but had good luck with this one LINK

If you've swapped out your grease gun end for one of those clamping ones, be sure to check the diameter to ensure it will fit inside the end.
The tip looks pretty much the same. It the push to open flow thing that was the killer. I could not get my short fat sausages in there to push the thing down to get the flow open. If it was shorter, longer or didn't have a "valve" it would be good. I just wanted something a lil more sturdy than the needle.

I used to go to the dealer every other oil change so the "pros" would make sure that if I shorted the lube job, it would get done right atleast every other time. But now they "have" to do the emissions recall anytime a vehicle comes in for any work.

I hear you, not sure why they went with this design tbh. Seems like putting in threads for a zert you could add when you need to grease and a thread saver when done greasing would be IMHO. In a different location?. I dunno, maybe that's just my assumption it would work too...either way nit the best design imho.

So my wife surprised me with a borescope. I think it was a hint she wants me to start the rebuild on her type 4 variant.
I had to test it out, so I jammed it down the oil filler. 2018 5.7 with 77,777 miles on it, unknown service history for first 60k, but I would think dealer serviced. Last 17k it has had frequent oil changes. I see no discoloration at all, so very happy. Coming soon to the big 100k service, so I'm excited to see how the combustion chambers look.

Put in new front brake pads today after realizing the ball joint removal tool I bought is too small, gonna take care of those too in the next few days.

Installed a Thrush welded muffler. I really like the sound unfortunately the thrush will probably be rotted out in maybe 3 years, but thats about the time my better half wants me to get a new truck anyways.

CV axles. Replaced front sway bar end links and mounting bushings. Surprised how worn the end link studs were where they pass through the sway bar. End link bushings were mildly dry rotted, but not in awful condition. 85K miles.

Took my truck to my son-in-laws shop and disconnected both collectors and cleaned them up with some emery cloth. Then applied some high temp sealant and voila no more annoying exhaust sounds. It was to the point of embarrassing. I think just cleaning them up smooth and retorquing collector bolts evenly sealed it, but used sealant for peace of mind. Hopefully it holds up. I won't disconnect them before I sell or trade it barring some weird issues.

Coming home from glamping, I had seen an inside left low pressure reading. It fell to 2 psi then 1 so I milked it to a rest stop. I put on the spare and all was good.
Today discovered the cause. The brass stem was loose in the rubber stem. Napa had a close match, I just had to file 2 flats on the end of it for the sensor with a square hole to fit on.
