Ram and Jeep aren't included. Arguably these are the important brands to most of us on this forum. Chrysler and Plymouth have been dead for years.

Other than "related to the founder", what does he bring to the table? Has he worked in the automotive industry in any capacity? If he's the next Lee Iacocca, great, but I'm guessing this is a 'look at me' pipe dream with extra pipe.

Chrysler would basically have to start from scratch. Whatever goodwill and marketing awareness they built up has long since decayed. Dodge, Jeep, and Ram are the profit centers and Stellantis isn't going to sell those.

......creating an “American-owned” Chrysler Corporation. The new entity would have Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram under its umbrella and would focus “not only on profits but also on the people who build these cars”, with workers becoming part-owners.

My Dodge Dealership sells Jeep & all sizes of Ram Trucks, i don't think that they have any new Cars & i can't recall if they ever sold NEW cars.
They have a few Classic cars , but i think that they are the owner's personal vehicles

What does he bring to the table? Name recognition, pride, desire to restore what has been lost, and maybe a know-how, can-do spirit, in the spirit of Lee Iococa. A legend that is created should never die. If it does, it is due to incompetence of leadership. High Ho Silver Away...

Frank B. Rhodes, Jr. has name recognition? Nothing against the guy, but he admits to having sold all the Chrysler stock he owned to start a furniture restoration business in 1983. Best I can tell, that's what he still does. Write letters to try and "Save Chrysler" for decades and restore furniture, not exactly the base level competence I would think would be required to raise billions of dollars for an acquisition. Stellantis sucks, but this guy isn't the answer nor does he have any answers.

Chrysler is going to need a huge boost in marketing and product development to have a remote shot at success, and I think it's a bridge too far for the US market. They have been limping along for roughly a decade on a minivan and a sedan that hasn't seen a redesign since 2011. That hasn't done much for reputation and desirability. What market space would they attempt to fill? Corporate twins with a near luxury update isn't going to work any longer. Competitors like Cadillac will continue to eat their lunch if they stick with that strategy.

Dodge, Ram, and Jeep are where the money is. Chrysler is a resource suck that's been circling the drain for nearly 20 years.
