    Official Redline SI-1 thread.

Thanks for doing this thread. I've been using SI-1 for two years...wrong! I've added to my hemi and my wife's mazda after each oil change. I will change my time of application going forward. Question: I plan on sending a sample of my oil to blackstone labs for the first time. Now is the...

    Lower ball joint

No, I just pressed them out with this... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00061SGJ0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 they gave little resistance after I figured out the correct press attachments to use.

after the next oil change, would you consider sending a sample in for testing?

    Lower ball joint

My OEM ball joint did not have a snap ring. The aftermarket version that I put on did have one. I'll bet that either they haven't been replaced before, or if they were, OEM ball joints were used. If you install ball joints that have grease fittings, make sure that you orient them so that the...

Sticky brakes when coming to a stop

sounds like the calipers need some love. I'll bet the slide pins are not permitting the caliper to retract after a stop. Many brake pad companies are including hardware in the box for this reason. I am going a step further by removing the pistons and replacing seals. I found one of the...

    How to: V6 Efan Conversion

I just wanted to revive this old page to add my experiences during the install. First, I've watched the boosted videos and studied the how to in this thread. My clutch fan was an absolute stuck on ***** to get off. My solution was to heat the fan nut with MAP gas, while I used a breaker bar...

    Ball Joints After 42K miles?

Moog sells a few levels of ball joints. The level that I purchased and installed after 65k miles had grease fittings. If you have serviceable ball joints and they aren't serviced, they actually are more prone for failure than service-free ball joints. Do your moog ball joints have grease...

replaced lower ball joints with moog question on greasing

I replaced my OEM front lower ball joints with moog problem solver joints part #K500286. They have grease fittings on the tops of the joint that I am not familiar with. They are not the zerk fittings that I've used before. You can see a photo of them here (it is the second photo)...

What kind of mileage are you getting with a Hemi and 3.92 gears?

I get about 17 mpg all highway according to the dash and about 11 or 12 mixed driving in my 16 Rebel. I've gotten as high as 11.5 mpg pulling my 7x12 enclosed trailer, all highway. My truck is tuned, so I use a minimum of 89 octane fuel. I use either ethanol-free 90 or 93 pump when I'm towing.

Why should I stay with RAM?

I was going to say the same. Get a big inverter generator. A dual fuel one would be even better. Then you can run a tank of propane. I wouldn't chose a truck because it can also be a generator. Facebook marketplace is loaded with generators all the time.

    Fluid Change after many miles?

make sure to level front to back and side to side. You will likely need some higher jack stands than the standard 3 ton stands that most home garages have in them. You will also need some method to pump fluid into the pan upon refill. I've used this before...

    air suspension aftermarket replacement recommendation

This is my plan if/when my system fails. So far I've been able to keep the cold morning phenonmenon from happening with brake line antifreeze. I am hoping that the air system doesn't fail. Boy, is it convenient backing up to a trailer!

    another trans fluid change question

For those of us that have caulk's bypass installed, what should the procedure be to check the level? It would take an hour of towing to get my temp to 122f. The last time that I changed it, I had to wait forever for it to get past 86f.

Awful gas mileage: 2024 RAM Rebel GT

I was going to say the same + AT tires. I came from a 350 hp subaru crossover getting nearly 30 mpg HW to a similar hp rebel getting 16. I feel your pain. It is what it is. You pay for the potential and appearance. We both could've chosen a more efficient version of a RAM.

AGM VS OEM VS LEAD CELL

Two of my bikes are sub-400 lb street/track bikes. And my dirt stuff is less than 300. If I were riding what you're on, I woul go for lead acid as well for the same reasons that you said.

AGM VS OEM VS LEAD CELL

AGM for my hemi, lithium for the motorcycles where weight matters. The Walmart AGM is not that bad $$$.

    Check your intake manifold bolts

I checked mine again yesterday. They all needed about 3/4 of a turn. I noticed a marked throttle response improvement. The only other variable is that I replaced the PCV valve. I'm not sure which maintenance item caused the drive ability improvement. I presume the intake was the culprit.

Air suspension problems in the cold

I am sorry that you are goig through all of these troubles. I don't believe that my issue is the same as yours. Personally, if I was at your point, I would convert to coil springs. That is my plan if/when this happens to mine. What else is there to replace besides what they've done?

Air suspension problems in the cold

I am not sure about other models besides the Rebel. From my understanding, they did not offer the air suspension as an option for one of the years after 2016 and it came back for a later model. Speculation was that there were improvements made to fix the issues that we were having, especially...

Air suspension problems in the cold

I have trouble believing that the system is a sealed system for this generation. How could it be sealed when there is an air line leading from the pump with a two-way filter attached to it behind the RH tail light? You can blow air through both ends of the filter. Also using your logic, if...

Air suspension problems in the cold

This is not a regular occurrence. Rather, this has happened twice. Both times in blustery cold (at least for PA). The first time, the truck went to the stops in the front. This time, the level stayed mostly equal despite the pump being frozen. Otherwise, the system works flawlessly in normal...

Continued problems with the air suspension where the RH rear seems to stay up in a very high position with NO messages.

I had a similar issue a week or two ago. I suspected that condensation had gotten into the air lines and frozen during a recent cold snap here in PA. I followed these instructions, which fixed my problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAJLt5FwZiQ&t=99s Essentially, you need to add brake...
