“Failed to program”—what’s up with THAT?

Started my truck today for a quick run to the store, and after I’d backed into the street and took off I noticed my digital speedo was not showing and all the gauges, etc that I’d set up previously were gone. All that displayed was a message “failed to program”. After parking and doing my business I returned to truck and started it; all the display elements were there but the speedo was displaying km/hr while the rest of the gauges were still in US quantities. I was able to reset the speedo to mph and on subsequent restarts the gauges seem normal. Checked the display for stored messages and there are none.

Just an anomaly, or is my display getting ready to fail?
