Felt like it'd be better to make a dedicated thread here for my truck rather than sticking to my introduction thread. I bought it Thursday from the dealership I work at, where the original owner traded it in. The truck has 62,500ish miles (I forget what it's exactly at) and other than some bubbling on the bedside and rust on the tailgate it's damn near mint. It's got full dual exhaust (I don't know if all 5.7 Rams did at the time so that may not be special) with Magnaflows so it rumbles. I plan on keeping it for a long time. It came with two sets of wheels as you can see. I'm not super fond of either set personally but this isn't a wanted ad so we'll ignore that for now.

(Yes I'm that goof that blocks out his plate. I know. Also, feel free to laugh at the plate frame- I know many will find it tacky, including my dad, who had it on his 2003 Ram in 2008! I was telling the salesman I went through about it and I said it was "pure 2008". Dad said "2005." I pointed out when he put it on his and all he could do was sigh and go "Yeah...." But I like to be 'era correct' and it doesn't get much more mid 2000s then that.

Now, for some help: Is there a specific model of fiberglass tonneau cover I should keep an eye out for that won't come down the sides and block the GTX lettering like this one does? It drives my OCD insane.

Well that was a fun 2.5 weeks.

Stupid 545RFE decided to leave the building tonight. It'll get fixed but I'm fuming.

Sorry no one responded, kind of a weird place to post on the forum.

Cool truck! Glad you got it fixed and welcome!

Yeah I wasn't sure what the best place for a dedicated thread to it was since it's not really a build and I don't have tech questions lol

No worries at all! I think you'll get some more views in the 3rd gen section so I moved it. Welcome again and that is a unique truck! I dig it!

Thanks! I've got a couple of things up my sleeve for it (nothing crazy) it's just hoping I make it happen

Nah, kept it stock. What I've got planned is pure visual stuff. Truck's driving great.

Id love some more info on that thing. Is it stock just how it is minus the wheels and exhaust?

Yessir. Well, that and the exhaust. I also need to get the proper tonneau cover for it. Those are basically the plans I've got. There's two GTXs within 5 miles of me and I've talked to the owner of the green one and will hopefully be trading him wheels. They're dirty but I'm certain they'll clean up. His tonneau is ripped so we'll see if I want it enough to pay to have it repaired (he said he hates it and wants to take it off. Since I'm a poser who never uses his truck as a truck I don't mind the snap on cover being a PITA)

So it's basically how it was in '04. I want to get it as close to stock as I can- unusual for me. I'm leaving the exhaust as is (the GTXs apparently got a Pacesetter muffler that didn't last for crap and dual tips depending on who you ask. This shows it had a "catback dual system" so I don't know who's right) and I did put a radio and speakers in it the first weekend I had it which I'm keeping.

The tail light covers had been changed too, funnily enough. The slots on mine are rectangular, the GTX trucks had ovals. I don't know if I'm bothered enough to try and find the 'right' ones

Took some good pictures with a friend on Sunday

The puddle under mine is from the air conditioning. I forgot to turn it off until we were halfway through the pictures.

I also beat the hell out of it to make sure it would take it and it did. Firm but not jarring 1-2 upshift is at 5600 and it didn't mind the one small brakestand (the only one I plan on doing in it)

Back to babying it.

Not much to report. Just been driving it. Had it at Woodward. There was another GTX down there. Won't post the pictures as I didn't get the dude's permission, but it was trippy more or less seeing my own truck coming down the road.
Also swapped the wheels back around since I'm trying to offload the nicer set- there's a set of Mottos for sale but I'm broke, gotta try what I can! Ironically it now looks exactly like it did when I bought it 4 months ago. Trying to offload the tonneau too but nobody's shown any interest in it.
Picture from last night when my buddy and I went to dinner. P.S. He sold the Daytona and is looking for a yellow GTX so if anyone knows of one for sale let me know.

It has been a long while!

There hasn't been too much to report.

I got the tailgate replaced (what a debacle!) and the grille. Today, I got myself some Mottos!

I was tossing about the idea of selling it but now that I've got the wheels I don't think I can. They need to be rechromed, but I expected that and they were free. Owner of the green one (Mark) promised them to me when he got new wheels.
