2006 dodge 2500 mega cab 5.7 engine replacement

I have a 2006 1500 5.7 that I can throw into my 06 2500 mega cab. I know the MDS will be a problem. However, can I swap the ecu also, to fix that problem?

Don't swap the PCM, you don't want to open that can of worms. The MDS won't be a problem as there won't be anything to actuate it. Default mechanical position is off. Leave the physical engine itself alone. The one thing you will need to do is block the EGR port on the head.
