2013, ram power steering. Board rebuild??

Anybody ever repair a board for their power steering. Took the cover plate off , no signs of corrosion. Board has power and belt on motor is good. Computer says board is the problem.
But it looks new.
Best price so far was 1400 bucks for the rack, with no guarentees it will work. If it does work then 1 years warranty.

If you can get your hands on a brand new one, or one out a wrecked newer Ram (neither would be cheap), some here have indicated they addressed the weak areas.
