Has anyone looked through the 2026 owners manual? (Attached)

Thanks for this. I am out of town without the truck but will check this stuff when I get back. FWIW - the sound is nothing like the normal horn. It is distinctly like a duck quacking twice.

My truck is a 2025 Big Horn, has the technology package. I do get the zzt-zzt at random times. I normally park in the garage, leave the key in the truck. Never had a dead battery in 11 months and 15000 miles, so I don't think leaving the key in the truck causes dead batteries. It will typically make the noise when I open the door. If I am out someplace, and hit the unlock button, it will make the noise.

A couple of days ago, the truck was in the driveway, locked, and I had the key in my pocket. I walked near it, and got a couple of zzt-zzts from it. I have to think it was detecting the key, because it did not do it if I walked by without the key in my pocket.

Still don't know what it is, but it isn't loud, and not really annoying, at least to me. I am sure it is some normal function, just don't know what it is.

Crawl under the front of the truck, get as close to the front axle actuator as you can, and have someone walk up and make the truck make the noise. Very curious if its that.

My 2026 big horn with the hemi has not made this noise before. 16k miles on it.

Why must you keep blabbing, when you don't know anything about this.....

I feel the same way about most of your posts, but we tolerate your foolishness.

Why don't you keep your personal comments to yourself? Nobody is interested.

> Do any of your trucks come equipped with Trailer TPMS monitoring system?
... if the pairing fails for that it can cause a double horn chirp.

> If vehicle lowering (air suspension) is cancelled via fob = Double Chirp

> Remote start request = Double Chirp

That's all I could find off hand in the manual.
Not sure if you watched his video…but it is not the horn chirping at all, its a quiet noise that sounds like an actuator or something moving back and forth.

So...truck has been sitting in the garage for 12 hours, key fob is in the cup holder, electronic key card is in the house nowhere near the truck.
Out of the blue it does the double chirp...zzzt zzzt...whatever you want to call it...3 times within about 2 minutes.
All I can do at this point is chuckle
I would definitely not consider it a chirp. The zzzt zzzt is more spot on imo.

I think people are confusing this with the horn chirping…which is a thing for certain functions of the truck. This is definitely not the horn chirping.

I mentioned the 4x4 actuator about 3 posts into this thread, but it seems like everybody wants to complain about the noise instead of crawling under the truck and looking...

Turkey has made 10 posts on this thread and nothing of importance to the topic, just blabber.
Must like to increase post count, not good.

Diver, you like to post a lot also. Why is that?
3.5 posts per day, that is excessive.
I can read, can you.

Hey, GeauxinUp, I appreciate the tip! I have read all responses, including yours. I can isolate the sound to the far front driver’s side under the hood. But I honestly don’t know enough about cars to tell any more than that by looking up there. From what has been shared, I’m hoping it’s a setting I can adjust rather than go to dealer, since others have reported that the dealer was of no help.

I ain’t saying I told you so, but…

THANK YOU for finding and sharing that! His is a ’25 Laramie and that is the same sound. Mine is not doing that as frequently, only rarely, and now is only when I lock the doors with the fob, or when I touch the driver door handle with the fob on me. Is this EVER a normal sound when it’s shutting down or preparing to be started? My battery is (so far) not being drained. I just spoke with my sales manager today. His truck and his wife’s car (I think it’s a Grand Cherokee or Wagoneer) both make the same sound when unlocking the doors and he thinks it’s fine. He’s a good guy; he ordered this truck for me from the factory when I couldn't find what I wanted regionally.
