Hey all. I have taken a shift in my mind of the end goal of my truck. At first it was a 6" lift on 35s that had numerous bolt ons to gain power loss back. But I have shifted to the "leveled 4wd" look on 33s.

I have bolted on ARH long tubes, K&N 63 CAI, MBRP cat back exhaust, electric fan, 180stat, Diablo Sport running 91 Octane Hemi Fever tune, Torque converter from Moes is coming and the down from 35's to 33s to make everything come together.

So I decided I want to feel my torque more than I want to lifted look. Part of the decision is that I honestly do not go off road much at all so it is function based as well.

I have spent numerous hrs pouring over tire specs, sending emails and texts annoying everyone I can trying to select the right tire for PERFORMANCE FISRT BUT MAINTAIN THE ABILITY TO HIT THE TRAIL OR SNOW.

I came up with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in 305/60/R18. I was very torn between the 305/65/R18 but it was 33.58" tall vs 32.40" tall of the 305/60. My current 35" MT's are actually 34.5" so the 305/65 at 33.58 would have netted me only 0.92" in reduction and I felt that was too small to go through the trouble. The 305/60 at 32.40" nets me 2.10" in reduction and in my opinion with the torque converter coming will make a big difference in power felt. Also a big difference between these two close sizes is that the one I selected is only a 6ply I think it was vs 10 ply on all the LT sizes. It has 50psi max vs 80psimax, load rating is like 2850 vs 3450. So it seems I have kinda found a niche tire for my niche wants in a tire.

The Terra Grappler came in first over the BFG KO2, Cooper Discover ST Maxx, Pro Comp A/T Sport and numerous others because it weighs only 52lbs vs the next lightest of any was 63lbs. 11lbs a tire I have bee told will be a BIG difference.

Anyway I honestly would prefer a different tire for looks as I am trying to maintain the leveled 4wd look as the terra grappler looks modularity aggressive but not like the other options.

Any wisdom shed on this would be great! Let's hear it weigh reduction and speed junkies :)

Also a worthy side note is I called today about the "AMP Terrain Gripper" in 305/60/R18. It is 32.33" in height and 12.0" wide and 58lbs. IT looks aggressive which I like but I ijke the 12.24" wide of the Terra Grappler to keep the wide stance. I feel 12.0" is flirting with the rear wheels being flush to body which I want a tad sticking out. Also it has virtually zero info out there on it but the guy preached to me it is a premium tire on par with Toyo and Nitto.

But I assume it's more spendy. The Nittos my tire shop will get me $1025 mounted, balanced, lifetime warranty.

A buddy of mine has the Nitto Terra Grapplers. They do very, very well off road in his old Tundra. On road, they make very little noise. I have no clue who long they last, or how they are on the road.

I have BFG AT TA KOs on my truck. They do well in the snow. I haven't taken it in the mud so I don't know. They ride a little rough, and mine don't balance well.

I also have GY Duratracs on the Wrangler. That's a great tire. They ride nicer than the TA KOs. They do hum a bit going down the road.

^Thanks for checking in...Thats great to hear the off road performance. It also is a goal of tire selection hence why I'm not simply going with an all street tire. I can understand some may read the title and think "palm to face" but getting past that I think my goals are reasonable. I want to maintain the 4wd leveled look with a somewhat aggressive looking stance and tire. But while doing that I want the best selection for street performance. And in requesting that it changes me simply getting a KO2 or Cooper ST MAxx as those tires weigh 64/65lbs compared to the 52lbs of the Nitto in my desired size.

I am watching vids of Rams with stall converters installed and I'm getting excited!

I took a chance and bought some Sure Trac AT 35x12.50x20's for $1000 Canadian, probably around $750usd and they are light! Put them on my shipping scale at 57lbs, I'm interested in their 33's for similar reasons as you. They should come in around 52lbs.

I'm running mickey thompson Baja ATZ P3 tires in 305/55r20 in my opinion they are very quiet and handle well in snow and rain I'm very happy with them so far had them for around 6000 miles and they still look and ride like new
