I do wish I knew more about the eTorque before buying mine, but i cant say im displeased with it. Frankly its been a phenomenal truck, then again it is still under 20k miles.

as for the OP's question. Despite it not being a hybrid, I have read in other places some folks being charged more at the DMV as it if was one when they went to reup their registration.

Charged "more" at the DMV for having some form of hybrid tech? I would have thought any EV stuff would catch a break. That would have really fried me, I pay those DMV crooks enough already..... and they still make me drive around on suspension-destroying roads.

A popular source of the claims about smoothing out shifting, among other things, is a video with a Ram product specialist that was put out when 5th gens first came out. It's been posted numerous times in different etorque threads. Guess I'll post it once more...

Thanks for posting this video, I was almost convinced.

I'm very confident that moderation on the use of the skinny pedal will save more $ and I like the kiss principle.

This Hemi is complicated enough without this over-engineered solution to save 1.5 mpg.

Now to order that 9-drive to add a bit more entertainment to my driving experience.

Many, maybe most, states are charging an EV surcharge at registration time due to those cars still causing road wear but paying less (or no for a pure EV) fuel tax that pays for road maintenance.
