Factory threaded inserts for running boards

The inserts all pulled out from using the running boards. Is it safe to Weld there where the inserts go as all the wiring runs through that channel?

i had pix of my Nerf Bars mounted on my 2009 Dodge Ram & they are now on my 2016 Ram
Somehow they disappeared from my files

I always thought that a person could get a section of 5/16ths flat bar, then take your Nerf Bar & test fit, measure, etc. for a good fit.

Then weld either nuts or studs to the flat bar.

Then spot weld the bar to the mounting point on your vehicle.
The spot welding would not cause enough heat to harm the wiring inside.

Then mount the Nerf Bars to the flat stock
