How common is the 149" wheelbase?

Somewhat embarrassingly, I didn't know Ram sold crew cab 1500's with the 6'4" bed until I bought mine and brought it home only to find I wouldn't fit the garage without rearranging.

Now that I've had it a couple weeks, I keep looking for other 'longboi' trucks like mine and haven't seen one yet. Every other one I see is the 140" wheelbase. So... Is mine as weird as it seems?

Depending on where your located the CC w/6.4' bed is more scarce. The longer wheelbase trucks are usually found in more rural areas.

Not very common at all here in Ohio .... It’s only a $300 up charge .... I plan to order a new Gen 5 with same setup as you ... 4 sets of clubs, and my giant cooler don’t fit in the 5’7” bed

I have one.
I think the short bed trucks look goofy as **** besides being less practical.

Mine is also the crew cab with the 6'4 bed and I definitely agree the short bed looks goofy on a crew cab truck imo enjoy it, only downside is trying to park it in parking garages lol

It is a long truck but nice. When I bought my truck I had to take it back to the dealer to fix some lot damage. It was a little ding in the back corner. The rental they gave me from Enterprise was a white CC w/ 6'4" bed. I loved the room the CC had inside but it was long. I can see how the 5'7" bed would be a waste. I wouldn't go any smaller than 6'4". I only had it a day and a half. I'd consider one for my next truck but this truck isn't going anywhere for a while.

Room for 4 sets of clubs, your big cooler, a couple of lawn chair and 2 strippers!
Go BIG or go home. ;-)

And yeah, in Knoxville, TN, ya gotta back it into a spot but so what. Makes for a clean getaway if your bride sees the strippers.:)6ef64c1bfce98c0d3373e5a29a98b2f1.jpg

What's kinda funny is that a friend of mine bought a 169" truck the week before I got mine, 2016 I think his is.

I had been looking at trucks for a couple months and has narrowed down what I was looking for. I was ok with the 5'7" bed because I've been driving an 08 Grand Cherokee (hemi of course) for the last 8 years. Any bed is better than no bed.

My truck is 70% city, 30% country. I wouldn't be able to use it in the city like I do with the long bed. And the short carries everything I need just fine. Had long beds before, and where needed, they are definitely the way to go. I wouldn't pull a goose neck with a short bed for sure.

in the 1500 it's rare. To get my truck, a '17 1500 4x4 CC long bed ED and Ram boxes, it was only available in a fleet/commercial truck. That being said, the truck is 19" long. If wife and I downsize to a condo, it won't fit in most current garages. I don't think Ram builds a quad cab short bed, but it would fit the new garages better.IMG_0727.JPG

I was searching for a crew with 6-4 bed in sw Florida. Couldn’t find but one and it was the wrong color. Bought a quad instead. The 5’ bed was just not worthwhile.

I've never seen the 6.4 bed in a crew cab 1500. I know there are out there because posts like this. i think QC's have 6.4 beds ? I can only imagine having the long version here in Cali. Parking spaces and structures seem to be getting reduced in size more and more so sooner even the 5.7 bed crew cab won't fit any more let alone a crew cab with a 6.4 bed :)
