Well the ignition wont be fixed until hopefully Tuesday. I am going to grab a silver SS spoiler on Monday. Id take the SS hood, but its been drilled for hood pins and I am not really wanting to alter the car that much being such a low number car.

Update, the car is still not fixed. The computer system was down at his supplier last night. So the goal is 3-4 pm today. Hopefully its fixed. We are due for some severe storms on Friday and Saturday. I need to get it moved so that I can get the wife Jeep in. I got the silver SS spoiler and its pretty rough. Ive been wet sanding it and getting all of the trash out of it. If it doesn't turn out like I want it, I will just strip it and shoot it myself. The C7 wheels that were on it I hope sell this weekend at the swap meet. I had a buddies dad come and take them out there for me yesterday.

So I will be fixing the VATS with a bypass.I ordered it from eBay and should be here by Monday. Pretty pissed off with the lock smith, but the bright side is that allowed me to free up some extra cash. So on Sunday I am going to get a already painted SS hood. Its aftermarket, so I will have to run pins, but its probably better anyways. I had a aftermarket sport hood on the ram and although I made the factory latch work, the shaking it did always scared people lol.

Well the VATS bypass came late last night. I was eager to get it moved before the storms rolled in this morning, so I hooked it up. Replaced the battery cable and hit the key. Nothing has changed. So after spending a hour testing to make sure I am getting fire, I have decided that I am going to have the neighborhood mobile mechanic come and take a look at it. It is something with that ignition. Either the bypass did not register with my system, the ignition itself is toast, or the ignition module is bad. I really dont like messing with wiring and airbags. I can do, but I want to know someone that is trained to fix thing like this working on it. I did finally get the SS spoiler on yesterday and I am going to pick up the SS hood today. I ordered the hood pin and they should be here tomorrow. I also ordered SS emblems and a SLP grill. Here are the before and after pictures of the spoiler. Ive still got to order new center cap decals now lol. I had put the Z28 ones on and well its now a SS clone.

Small updates here. Starter is going in later today. Hoping that is the cause of the problem. I bought a heat wrap that is supposed to be here today. We all know how long tubes and starters do not get along. I got the hood installed on Sunday. I paint corrected what needed to be done on that and the spoiler and then I ceramic coated it with Koch Chemie C0.02.

Well she runs again... It wasn't the starter, its still the VATS crap. We ended up doing some gone in 60 seconds stuff to get it running. Next week I am just going to build a toggle/kill switch to make the fix permanent. When I jumped it and it started hard it either screwed up the BCM which is several hundred bucks or it is something in the ignition/VATS system. I am tired of throwing money at this problem so I am just deleting it all together. GM and there amazing ideas.

Well finally had some time to finish her up look wise. I added the SLP grill, SS Hood and Spoiler, and today I added some black lights. Really all that is left to do is enjoy it at this point. What do y'all think about the final results?

WOW!!! How'd I miss this thread?!?!? lol

Big car fan here! I had a '99 Hugger Orange SS with white leather interior which I ordered brand new in '99. Awesome car. I love the F bodies. The Pontiacs were the best looking F bodies in that era from the 4th gen. The Camaro was very, very close though. lol

Enjoy. I bet it's a blast to drive.

I agree the TA was the best looking 4th gen. I looked for one similar to what I got, but they just don't exist unless you are willing to shell out 20-30k. This is my second Z car. I had a 98 about 15 years ago. It wasn't as modified as this one.

Looks great, sounds great! Had to get mine out for a quick ride! Nowhere near as clean as yours is! No fear of bug smears here!;-)
Nice! Its taken a lot of work to get it to the stage the paint is in now. Glad you got yours out! Post some pictures of it!

Well I couldn't sleep. Go figure this has been the norm lately. Getting old sucks. So I am sure I made my neighbors happy with a 4:55 am start up and drive through the neighborhood. I needed to get my lights adjusted before my super early show next weekend. I have only driven it in the dark once " The Eclipse" I am so glad I upgraded to LED's. They are so worth the money.

I gotta upgrade my lights! It’s almost terrifying driving with 25 year old lighting compared to the new technology!

My car is dusty/dirty and bug spattered! The dark blue metallic really shows off all the scratches! My dog loves to jump up and look inside!:-(

It’s a little embarrassing to show her off! But parking next to yours would show yours off even more!:)

It sounds like it needs a good detail! I love the blue. It is like black tho it shows everything. I am running Auxito 6500's in mine. Great price and super bright. I did a full LED conversion on mine. It looks really good at night and is super bright. Id share my list, but you have pop ups so its different.

I don’t have the patience to do a detail on it! My brother was an ace in the body and paint world…until he crushed 7 lower vertebrae on a 4-wheeler! He’s up and moving and enjoying life, but no more bent over on concrete for him! His son will do a day or 2 on it! That blue, and the black truck, on a 500’ gravel, clay, and dirt driveway, are brutal to keep clean! Put the hose away and they’re already dusty again!

I lived on a dirt road for about 12 years so I get that. You might think about a tornador it will blow the dust right off. I am getting to the point where the 20 years of roofing has caught me. Being bent over all day I feel it too. I only have to deal with a thin layer of dust now days, so its not hard to clean up the car.

Been doing HVAC residential service for 35 years! Lots of basement stairs, farmhouse basements…

Before that, 6 years of golf course construction!

Lots of years of sports, partying, and physical abuse! At almost 58, my body just hurts! 7 concussions, got driven over by going out the door of an E350 conversion van in college, stabbed twice freshman year…and so much more! I thank God pretty regularly for watching over me, but the aches and pains are reminders of the “fun” I had in life! TOO MANY stories to tell!
