Member since 2018 when I bought a 1500 EcoDiesel Laramie new. In Dec of 2025 at 112,000 miles that pig let go. Total failure after moderate driving, great maintenance and oil samples saying all was good. I have been in fleet maintenance for 40 years. I take care of my stuff. RAM would do NOTHING for me. Not even go 1/2 on the parts for goodness. That is the no brainer slam dunk thing to do to keep guys like me from posting my story EVERYWHERE. The lesson I learned is that RAM is not going to stand by their bad products and make things right. I will never buy a CDRJ product again, EVER. Just passed on Ram and bought my graduating sons GMC 1500 AT4 and Canyon AT4. Let's see if GMC is an upright company.

They were when I was with GM, but now, Who knows?
Did you contact RamCares and plead with them? You might be surprised!

While not disputing the bad quality, you're out of warranty and they don't owe you a dime. GM isn't going to treat you any better, look at what they are doing to the 6.2L owners who have bad crankshafts. "Use thicker oil" - LOL.
Think if they dropped 75W 90 gear oil in the crankcase help? That be a lil thicker.

Now for 2027, GM allegedly dropping AFM/DFM and redesigning the V8's. Guess we shall see.

Actually, it looks like you've been a member since 2017. Your vehicle info says you own a 2003 1500 with the 5.7. Not sure what's up with that...

Regardless, as other's have mentioned, I doubt any manufacturer will cover an engine failure at 112k miles. The right extended power train warranty would have covered this failure. It's worth whining to @RamCares to see if they can do anything to help you out (the answer is always no if you don't ask), but I wouldn't have high expectations.

I also doubt Ram cares if you post your story everywhere. You'll be far from the first to do so. They don't make money off people who keep vehicles for the long term. They make their money off people who buy a new vehicle every three or four years. And also from the people who have had it with the way they were treated by Chevy or by Ford and decide to try another brand. It'd be nice if car makers would stand behind their products for longer than they do, but if you're looking for one who will cover a major failure almost three times longer than the warranty period you aren't gonna find it.

Over the years I noticed that GM will have a team of the planet's best engineers design a vehicle to perform and last forever. When the engineers are done a team of Ivy league accountants with MBAs will review the design and make small changes to save $0.64 per unit and allow the vehicle to self destruct within 5 years. In the 80's my wife bought an Oldsmobile that did not have paint on the dipstick tube and freeze plugs so the rusted out. No drain holes in the frame- rust, cruise control module full of plastic gears. The list goes on. Had numerous company cars from GM that were the same.

Power train warranty would Not have covered that. Power train warranty is an absolute joke. It covers internals but No attachments.

Would not have covered what? All the OP said was that he had "Total failure after moderate driving" of his EcoDiesel. What do you know that the rest of us don't?

So the engine just crapped out. Nothing just ***** the bed like that without reason.

Also, why would you expect anything being out of warranty? That's as insane as the guy who was mad Ram Cares didn't drop everything to kiss his ass.

Good luck with the Canyon AT4. My coworker has 3000kms on it and nothing but issues with the transmission since new.

Moral of the story, all brands got issues.
