New Ignition with codes

Hi! My husbands truck 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 got broken into by some jerks and drilled out his ignition. He has replaced everything they messed up. We had a locksmith come out and make a new key for the new ignition. He imputed all the information and attached our vin number to it. They security light is on and it will not turn on. When codes were read it said that there was a missing vin or mismatched vin. Any idea how to fix this? We need his car back and need it quick.

did he program a new key to it or just cut a key? you might also want to try unhooking both battery terminals off the battery and then touch posative and neg terminals together for a while it will reset the system/drain all power.
