I am planning on replacing all four shocks on my 2014 1500 (see signature). We use it for quite a bit of towing, 9,000 pound 30 foot Airstream. I want to level the truck, so I am planning on using Bilstein 5100's for the front. Should I use Bill's for the rear also, or are there better ones for towing like KYB 565104 MonoMax Gas Shock? Thank you!!

If it were me I’d put bills 6112 on the rear. Order them for a 2500.
@SoCal can tell you what the difference is. He had them on 10 1500.

There is a towing section on the forum you might want to check out. Those guys may be able to also give you some great info----me I'd probably do the shocks, maybe look at some different springs for the rear depending on tongue weight of the trailer and then look at some Airlift 1000 bags. Maybe a little overkill but that's just me----

I'd hold off on the springs until the bags prove they need any help.
With both you're guaranteed to lose the 1500 ride comfort.
For the bags I'd skip straight to the 1000HD. A wee bit better support. Longer lasting and not very much more money.
Add the springs later if ever needed. Both installs are really quite easy.

I recommend bags for your towing needs. Airlift makes a great setup, as mentioned the 1000HD is a great way to go.

let me know if we can help. We offer many shock brands and Airlift

Run the Bilsteins front and rear to keep the truck riding nice when your not towing. Then get a set of airbags to find up the rear end when towing, either Airlift (5000 or 1000) or Timber Grove. The difference with the 5000s(and Timber Groves) is they are a frame to axle bag which are more heavy duty compared to the 1000s which go inside your springs. You also don't have to fully inflate the 5000s & TGs before loading like the 1000s.
None of the airbags will effect the ride when running the minimum pressure(5psi) while unloaded.
Since it sounds like your going to be towing a lot, get a WirelessOne compressor set up for whichever airbag set up you go with.

I have 1000's and timber grove bump stops, made a big difference when I tow my 32 foot travel trailer. Also did the helwig rear sway bar, I think I'm there and happy. Keep in mind it's no 2500 but the set up works.

I think you meant to type Timbren which are load assist bump stops Timber Groves are air bags.
Does your axle touch the bump stops with the airbags at max inflation? Wondering why you would have both if the WDH is set up correctly. How much tongue weight?

Thank you all for the input. I have decided to go with the Bilstein 5100 shocks front and rear. I already have the Timber Grove ASAM and the Hellwig sway bar (see signature), I love both.

After reading through the Towing forum, I decided that the Bilstein shocks were probably the best choice for the rear.

Thank you again.
