Sept 09th 2024 Just now I got into my truck started engine put foot on break pull down on shifter and the shifter arm broke. Has anyone ever heard of this? It did not even come out of park.

Since you say “pull down” on the shift lever I’ll assume you have the column shifter. Typically column shifters have a small roll pin that attaches the shift lever to the steering column mechanism. That roll pin probably came out or broke. A pain in the but to get to but not a difficult repair.
