Hi guys,

So I realised after washing my truck last night that the chrome parts of the 20 inch wheels are plastic. Has anyone ever removed these parts? If so can you post up some pics of what they look like without the chrome bits. Want change the look of the wheelsbut low on $$$ thanks!7174a01708601cfbfce903945040f4cc.jpg34ac5b868fb021eefe65e4499a1996b3.jpg

its possible to remove it, but your going to be left with a plain steel wheel and its a pain in the ass to take off. youll also have to remove the epoxy/glue from the wheel as well which is also a pain in the ass. unless you plan on having the wheels blasted and powder coated, my suggestion would be to leave it alone or paint the chrome/plastic.

If you look at the back side of the rim you might be able to remove the "insert" part like the 1500s and then paint them..... I saw a thread about it for the 1500 Limited rims somewhere on the site.

Someone on here did this to a 2500 and used plastidip. It turned out great in my opinion. I don't think it's too hard to remove either. I've seen the screws on the backside of the wheel.

I took mine off an don't remember there being any glue on'em, just 3 screws holding them on, I did the plasti dip 2 different ways once with rim and left chrome inserts and once with the inserts just dipped

New to the group, thanks! I have a 2018 2500 limited and I have the inserts just coming off. I replaced two before a trip to Florida to look sharp and on the way home now and three more have come off!! I still have the extended warranty till January, but apparently they are not covered! Anyone having the same problem? Suggestions?IMG_3964.jpegIMG_3964.jpegIMG_4043.jpegIMG_4043.jpeg
