Replaced my remote start with a warranty replacement from 12voltsolutions. They even sent me a module to hook to computer for final programming so I didn't have to send mine in and then have to wait for it. Took me a few minutes to uninstall and reinstall/reprogram the new one and then performed final programming online with their tech. Can't say enough good things about their company and customer service. Originally installed 2 years ago and when I contacted them about a weird issue with lights flashing while remote started they allowed me to get a warranty well after the fact and sent my replacement immediately. I have 2 weeks to send back my old module and programmer to avoid a charge for parts and it came with a return envelope and a prepaid sticker to send via UPS. Also to anyone that doesn't know about this company it's plug and play for our trucks with no splicing and you can add a phone module which connects to an app which you can monitor your truck, unlock it, start it and see on a map since the module has gps. I had an issue when I first got it two years ago which they sent the replacement before I had to send mine back under same exchange policy. It's a $1 hold on credit card which is refunded.

OK so a week or so ago I painted my engine cover, shared and got great feedback. The problem was it was so shiny, it didn't look right to me. Kind of boy racer in my mind. Shot a can of extreme matte over it and it was still shiny. I was hating it so much I was about to trade it locally for a plain cover. Decided to scuff all the clear, flatten the paint, and hit it with 1 coat of matte. I am thrilled with the result, it matches the engine plastics sheen now, and in my mind, looks factory. Wish I had done this from the beginning

Looks good, I ditched my engine cover when I put my K&N cold air intake on.

Painted my hood vents and engine cover. I didn't think the engine cover would fit under the Vararam but I used the oem PVC tube and extended the breather over to the other side, then made a bracket to hold it up.
I think I need to paint the Vararam cover.

Thanks to the pioneers on this forum, did the AC heater core bypass hack. Used a high temp brass vall valve with SS clamps. Cost $13. Hopefully tomorrow's drive is cooler than yesterdays drive.

Based on others experience and comments, there appears to be no problems. I plan to open the valve every couple weeks/monthly for Short period to allow coolant to recirculate through core. May or may not be needed.

Just completed my Passive Entry Handle install. Headed to the hand wash to get her cleaned up a little.

Changed the oil, oil filter, and cabin air filter in my truck, and did the same with my wife's Jeep and changed her engine air filter as well. Tomorrow or Monday, I'll rotate the tires on both vehicles, and clean my K&N air filter.

Replaced the cracked cluster lens this morning as well as went to LED license plate lights. Metal clips that hold in the license plate light housing were not looking too good - especially the left side, so ordered another set. Will install when they arrive as original ones are in there for now.

Cleaned the reusable intake and cabin filters. While cleaning them, there were a few small pebbles in the folds. I took a lil flatblade and found all kinds of crap at ends.

Going to Phoenix to get my stitches out from lower back surgery 6 weeks ago on Thursday. Had to have a 2nd surgery almost 4 weeks ago to get rid of an infection that set in the incision. Thank God it didn't get to my spine.

Had a family emergency that led to me needing to leave in a hurry, threw the truck in reverse, hit the brakes to throw it in drive. But ABS engaged and ended up letting the truck "love tap" the tree next to my driveway. I planned on replacing the bumper eventually anyways but hoped the tailgate would've been safe. Soon as I got home I found out I'm into it for a bumper, tailgate and figure out if the exhaust is going to need any repairs. But in the end, the family emergency came out OK so the truck is not a big deal.

i’m in denial. I’m pretty sure I have lifter failure happening. I did oil change earlier this week and the oil looked clean as far as metal shavings go nothing sparkly. The noise did quiet down at first, but it doesn’t seem to be going away and I’m pretty sure it’s been like this for quite a while, pushing 146,000 miles still running pretty strong just wondering how much more I can get out of it
