Check those cabin filters!!!

Just a reminder, with all this road salt and dust I've had during the fall and winter, I just replaced mine and significantly increased air flow...

STP CAF1864P from Autozone was $19... Yeah I know I over paid but I wanted it fast.

Any idea what the interval is on them? I had never changed one in anything until I did my wifes 2017 Subaru Crosstrek last year. My son has an identical truck to mine but drives his off road alot (and has 30,000 miles on it in 6.5 months). He had his changed a couple months ago and said it was bad. My truck has 13,700 miles on it but haven't changed mine yet.

No idea what the "official" interval is, but I change mine twice a year. Once in late fall after the squirrels quit dropping acorn husks on the truck by the bushel and once in late spring after the major pollen season is over.

I changed mine at 25000 and damn did I notice better airflow. Bought a pg cabin filter model PC4579. Fits perfect. Also has more pleats and better material vs the store brands or even the factory filter.

My manual and Mopar account say every 20k... but I saw such a big air flow increase, my truck is construction use, so I'm gonna follow Kad on this one... probably twice a year for me...

lol, that's what that Amazon link showed. Not sure who would be doing the install of a cabin filter bought from Amazon, but I want that job!

I'm not even sure where the cabin filter is on my truck, lol. Its a 2017 I bought new in 7/17 and has right at 60k miles on it. Probably about time to change it if I had to guess. At least I change the oil and the air filter regularly, so I reckon I've got that going for me.

You have to drop the lower glovebox out of the way to access the cabin filter door.

Damn. OVER a hundred years of cars on the road and now someone came up with a money making scam to sell cabin air filters.....if only I had thought of that 50 years ago.......
So it's filtering the same air coming into the truck that the people walking on the sidewalk are breathing.
Slow cab air flow? Pull the filter and chuck it out. Crank the window down a bit and save your money.

Cabin filters make a big difference... Especially if you live in a big city or dusty areas. I notice a huge difference with my Audi between using a paper filter and a charcoal filter, so it is doing something for the air inside.

Also, people walking on the sidewalk are not sitting directly behind the exhaust of vehicles.

Plus my filter trapped a bit of "fall" debris, seeds, leaf pieces, etc. stuff that would probably collect and SIT in the bottom of air chamber forever...

the air flow is "down" thru the filter so it also acts like a "net"
