ok so i used duplicolor chrysler pearl black and clear to paint my dash parts the past few days its been hitting like 100 i came out thurs and the paint (clear) started to get little bubbles in it , only area is the top of the dash where i painted. So fri i put a rag on top of the dash and when i came out the rag was actually stuck to the paint. Now its been dry for like 3 weeks and i have to park in the sun at work no choice so any help would be great should i just light sand it and reapply the clear or should i use a better clear never had this prob before and i see all the other gys that have panted theres not saying they are having problems

this is the part that was bubbling (this is before it was bubbling) to give you idea of where its at

No problem, just make sure to get ALL of the other clear off first so it won't do that again

2K spray max clear. It is the ABSOLUTE best out of a can. I used it on headlights, and its freakin' amazing.

Sand down your current work (scuff pad) and if needed, reapply black. If not, go to the clear. Its an activated clear so it has a hardener in it. Spray on 3-4 coats and let it dry in the garage for about 3-4 hours, then stick it out in the sun. Bake that crap!

Now, are you sure its only the clear, or is it bubbling from below? If its below, strip it all. Prep is KEY.

I have to park in the sun at work as well. I use a sun visor in the windshield. Looks tacky, but it saves my dash from direct sunlight 8 hours a day. Mine interior trim has been painted for about 3 weeks now and I haven't had any problems with it.

I don't see why not, go down to the description on it and it says you can use it on anything. So yes you can, and screw the paint shops, they're stupid and ridiculous on their prices

If they want to charge you $500 that's a ripoff. I screwed up my first time painting it and I took it to a local shop and they charged me $20 to sand and repaint it. Another quote I got from Macco was $25 just to sand it.

I'd say get a few more estimates.

ouch.

Heck, when I went out looking to outsource my paint work.........I was amazed what these guys want. And don't get me wrong......I worked in a body shop before. I know what the costs are, etc.

Wow. Yeah I'd sooner take my own shot at sanding it before I'd even consider laying down that kind of money. That's just nuts for them to charge that.

might be safer to use a hand sander to get the meat of it. just be careful.
