Negatory, good buddy. I'll tell you that emission compliance is a federal issue. As a retired federal LEO with 30 years experience DEP did nothing wrong. The dealership advertised an illegal vehicle for sale. That's some dumb sh*t, right there.^^^^THIS^^^^
However, Emissions compliance is not federal or even state law. This is regulated at the regional level and can be different even in different areas of a state. For example Colorado.
Further, what the DEP did in this quoted statement is called entrapment and IS illegal.
And although it wouldn't necessarily cover emissions equipment, for y'alls' light reading I would recommend the the lawsuit againts OEMS brought primarily by SEMA regarding an individuals' right to modify thier vehicles inside of the warranty period without voiding the OEM warranty.
Have great days folks!

What you can get is a tuner that will essentially add more fuel...just a bit...that will also cause it to go to regen much more often to keep up with the extra output caused by the extra input. I'm sure the hocus-pocus snake oil salesman Mr. Banks has some "solution" for it...But like all his "solutions", it'll be nothing but pure unadulterated BS in disguise. My 2015 RAM is not deleted. I'm wondering if I can get a tuner for it for better fuel economy.
Yea...They all call where ever they came from "home", which is usually some north eastern crap hole which coincidentally became that way because of the scumbags they voted into office. Yet, they come here and vote for the same gun-control scumbags and all you hear out of their disgusting mouths is how everything was better "up home". As a younger man, I'd hit them...As an older, wiser man, I restrain myself.Already has been happening hate to say.

Yes, you can however it's not going to buy you much of anything. Gale Banks would lead you to believe that his air intake horn, his tuner, and some of his other snake oils will check all the boxes. The only box they check is that your wallet is lighter and his is fatter. The problem is the emissions equipment. Until it's gone you can tune all you want, but the engine can't breathe. My 2015 RAM is not deleted. I'm wondering if I can get a tuner for it for better fuel economy.
Possibly, but he did say "Emissions compliance is not federal or even state law. This is regulated at the regional level", so I only had that to go on.I think he means emissions compliance *testing* from the context, not the law itself. Could be wrong, though.
Drugs, prostitution, killer drunk drivers, red light runners, stop light runners, violent thieves, shoplifters, street racers, rapists, child molesters, burglars, car thieves, gang activity, stabbings, domestic violence...Glad to know you are keeping the community safe and the coffers full "heavily enforcing" those diesel scofflaws.About time they started cracking down on it. My part time job as a Deputy i have been enforcing the law for deleted diesels heavily. Especially if they are rolling coal.
That's quite a workload. We cops wear a lot of hats.Drugs, prostitution, killer drunk drivers, red light runners, stop light runners, violent thieves, shoplifters, street racers, rapists, child molesters, burglars, car thieves, gang activity, stabbings, domestic violence...Glad to know you are keeping the community safe and the coffers full "heavily enforcing" those diesel scofflaws.
They were produced that way. Diesels produced for the government for shipment offshore don't have the DPF systems...Only when they end up staying here, or are sold to state and local governments(production over-runs), they don't bother adding it. Nice to know big brother is watching while he poops where ever he wants to.Heck, 90% of the diesels in a certain place in my city are gov owned and not a one of them driving around out there have the first piece of emissions equipment on them... from the factory. I don't see the MPs pulling any of those over. They have other things to do.
It's a "do as I say, not as I do" dilemma.
Ah yes, good ole entrapment
One of my favorite government overreaches
"Action by law enforcement personnel to lead an otherwise innocent person to commit a crime, in order to arrest and prosecute that person for the crime."
Not entrapment. If the gov't deleted the truck, then sold it to someone and prosecuted them for having the deleted truck, then you've got something
If your state enforcement decides not to enforce the law. Nobody said anything about the legality of it.It doesn't "depend"
It's not legal, fed or state.
If state enforces fed or their own state law is totally different thing.
I did not miss the point, you did. Self inspection, DMV station inspection, private garage inspection, side of the road big truck inspection, going back 49 years, you can be pulled over for emissions no matter how your vehicle is registered, no matter if you have a current inspection sticker or not. It was not "legal" to pollute the air in NJ.You're missing the point. Completely. Spent too much time on this already. My thumbs hurt.
I'm not after everybody just the *****. Also my town has none of that except the domestic violence. But when she keeps going back, but much you can do.Drugs, prostitution, killer drunk drivers, red light runners, stop light runners, violent thieves, shoplifters, street racers, rapists, child molesters, burglars, car thieves, gang activity, stabbings, domestic violence...Glad to know you are keeping the community safe and the coffers full "heavily enforcing" those diesel scofflaws.
