My fuel gauge doesn't work in my 2006 3/4 ton Cummins, so I just fill up every 300 miles. When I tried to fill up yesterday, the pump clicked off almost immediately. I nursed as much as I could get in, but it only took 3.5 gallons, and I know I'm near empty. Filled it to the very top where it was almost overflowing. It looked full and topped off, but I know there's not much fuel in the tank. Any ideas what's going on??

Gas bubble... See if you can burp it... :)

On a more serious note, something is stopping up the fill tube or the vent tube: I'd start by checking for a clogged vent tube (it comes from the topside of the tank and allows air to escape while you're fueling up) will cause a problem trying to fill up.
