Temp Question

Hey guys so ive seen the question asked before but want to make sure mine are good for year and trans type ect.

So 2015 ram sport with the 5.7 and 8 speed. Im canadian so the temps are in celsius.

Now this was driving on hwy.

coolant gets up to 104 or so
trans temp gets to 93 think 94 once
oil temp 104 ish
those are the highest ive seen the temps.

for the non-metric folks:
104°C = 219°F
94°C = 201°F

As for the temperatures those are normal, the oil may get considerably warmer if your really working the truck, could go upwards
of 110°C -115°C. Use a good full synthetic oil changed regularly and all is good.

I run pennz ultra plat with lubegard.
I dont run the truck hard i just hwy commute and i see alot of people saying the trans temps are lower so i thought id better ask to be sure.

If you go into the evicc settings ,you can toggle it over to SAE numbers.I'm a Canuck too,but any temp above 30C i still convert back to SAE,as i understand 201F better then 94C when it comes to engine temps,lol.

Oh really and it will still leave the speedo on km? Tire pressure in psi?

Speedo you just toggle back to KM's,but yes tire pressures will be in SAE to,the only downside will be the outdoor temps will also be in SAE.Once you figure out how to switch things over,it's easy to toggle between both.On a longer trip,i start to get bored,and will toggle through everything,including altitude,lol

If the transmission is staying at or below the coolant temperature it's within spec, if the transmission temp spikes considerably then there is possibly a problem the the transmission TMU. There's bypass kits available but probably won't make much of a difference unless you really work the truck. Also keep the trans maintained with fluid and pan changes at the ZF recommend approx 100,000kM interval.
