Sorry if this has been brought up before but attempting to research haven't found much specifically on it to help. @ weeks ago, i had to replace my truck battery and after that, the remote start quit working. This is a 2016 rebel. It did not display any message on the cluster panel, and every other feature is working. The hood is fully closed, and from I have read it could possibly be a hood latch sensor. From the a google search, most rams had a hood latch sensor plugged into the actual latch. Mine does not- however it does have a connector that looks like what I have seen in pictures to be a sensor that is just hanging down under the cover that goes across the radiator support that you have to take off. It is not plugged into anything, nor do I see anything it would be plugged into. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Is it a factory remote start (ie a separate button on your remote) or do you press the lock button 3 times? If factory the latch should have wires going to it.

I have to press the lock button three times. It's weird, there is no wires going to the latch but there is a pigtail wire with a plug that looked like the one from google image search of the sensor hanging down (not plugged into anything) off the wiring harness that is near the latch, but I see no place it should plug into. Will take pics this morning of it and post to better get idea of what it looks like.

Lock button 3 times is an aftermarket remote start. Most likely a module under your drivers knee panel. You'll have to see who makes it and how to reinitialize it.
Yup. This is accurate info. Probably a "Start-X" module under there. They are the "3 lock button pushes" people. Maybe another brand, but I'd guess Start-X

What does the module look like by chance? I assume will need to take the kick panel off to locate under drivers side?

I had bought it from the dealer that way at 18k and just thought it was factory so def getting taught something

Thanks- that helps a lot. Def will get on that after work tonight and hopefully find. Just don’t understand why changing a battery would make it stop working

Wouldn't be surprised if you have to reset or initialize the system again. Call the 1-800 number from the Flashlogic website and ask them, or take a look at the install manual. No personal experience with this system, but have seen similar issues before on aftermarket remote starts.

So unplugged the box starting with the blue connector first and so on, and let it sit for a few minutes then replugged everything back leaving the blue for last. Noticed a reset button or at least what I thought that button was for and pressed it a time or two and the green light come on and every time I would hit the button, it would have different blinking successions. Apparently that was the wrong thing to do. I called the company and they basically told me I should’ve never touched the button that I de-programmed it. They said because it’s a Dodge product. It’s a two system or a two-step reset and I would have to take it to a dealership or a dealer that does these to reflash it to get it working again.

I have a feeling that might be a little expensive to do so would it be better and cheaper for me just to buy the start-X system ? Based on the video installs for that brand, it’s just plug and play and it doesn’t like you have to program anything from the computer. But I may be missing something on that.IMG_1776.jpeg

Thanks chopper - however the box does not have a serial number or parts number that matches the box itself. Plus the company says I need that flash drive to re-flash it. My model compared to the website looks a lot older.

Does the Start-x kit come with everything?
