There is a function for that situation called erase ignition keys. So, you would erase them all from the truck, then reprogram the one that you do have back to the truck (along with any additional new ones). This will render any other fobs that belonged to the truck that you don’t have useless.
Thank you. Will I need anything special with the JScan app?

It's same for both. Need app of course. SWG cable or module and OBD device.

I prefer ODBLink MX+, it cost a lot more than others. But I've never had any issues. Tried 5-6 'cheaper' brands, had time out issues with them.

I know the OBDLink was the only good game in town back when alfaobd was becoming popular, but they became too proud of themselves with their prices for what it is. Since then, other equivalent and more capable interfaces have come out, for far cheaper, mainly the vLinker devices. The FD+ is just as equivalent and good for 1/3 of the price, and after using it over the last year on extended bench sessions, there’s no way I can justify telling anyone to get anything more expensive.

I have wondered if the Remote is programmed to the Ignition itself, the RF Hub, or the BCM or CPU.
It probably depends on the type of Ignition switch,
like my Remote is inserted into the Ignition, others are PUSH BUTTON Start

What got me to wondering about it, is this particular company

If I'm going to do it one time, then probably not worth getting all the stuff? Or would it be worth it just to have?

Is there some instructions somewhere I can read on how to do this?

Getting all the items listed in my post will cost you about $125, which is still going to be cheaper than having someone program a fob for you. Then you’ll have a scan tool to use that is more powerful than what the dealer uses.

Not really specific instructions on this site, but there are on the other Ram forums that this one won’t allow links to. If you are definitely going to get this stuff to do it yourself, I’ll take the time to re-do a step by step write-up on it here.

When I get the stuff I'll message you and you can tell me how to do it. I have an OBD reader and was wondering if it would work to do this? Seems to work pretty good. Don't have any idea if it will work for the remote though. Thanks very much for the help.

What is the model of the OBD reader?

Jimmy. Great info you've posted.
I see the reader is $45, dongle $15, and jscan apparently free? Ebay or Amazon fobs about $20. Can you kindly recommend one with a link?

Unless missing something, not sure how we get to $125.

Also how do we know if our 1500 is a DS or DT.

Many thanks!

JScan is about $20 per vin. It's free download. Like AlphaODB but if you actually want to use it. You pay for it.

DS/DT tire bolt pattern is easiest, DS is 5, DT is 6
Look in front , if you have owned Ram before.

Jimmy is the expert here. If he says the Vlinker Fd+ works, that's good enough for me. I agree it's not listed on the Jscan site.

So now it's $35 reader + $15 dongle +$20 jscan + the $30 fob. So. $100 unless I missed something.

Can Jimmy help us on the good amazon and ebay fobs to work on '23-24 1500s? (esp if different from '19-22) A link would be most helpful.

Everything I recommend to use, including the fob, is linked in post #4 of this thread.

Found these instructions for the Vlinker FD+. Hopefully they're legible if you zoom.

Can anyone verfy they are correct for the Ram?

Correct. If it’s for android, you pair it like any other Bluetooth device. If it’s for iPhone, no pairing, just plug it in, open JScan and hit connect.
