Hey i know this post is a little
Old but trying to see if it might be the same as my problems. Are those videos still availible for me to watch and see if it’s similar, I have a clicking and jerking motion only in reverse with the wheel turned slightly to the right and applying the brakes slightly.-2014 Ram 2500

I'm going to add to this. I've got quite the noise in the rear end of my truck. At first it's the brakes letting off but after that it's pretty easy to hear. Of course it didn't make the noise when I took it in. It's not all the time but every so often. Doesn't make it going straight only turning and only does it in reverse best I can tell. I had brought it in because both rear seals were leaking and I had mentioned this noise to them as well. They did not change the inner seals and did not take the differential cover off to inspect anything.

Here's the link to the video:

Had this same noise only when turning in reverse. Never had a sound going forward and wasnt all the time. Mine happened or when noticed it I was 1000 miles from home. I know it says no friction modifier needed but after I added it I have not had the popping sound since. I think I got for around 10-15 bucks at oriellys. Worth a try and wont hurt anything.

Good to know. I'm sure changing the fluid will do some good. I'm sure it's never been changed. 31k on it. I'll do that first and update.

Well I heard the noise again after I changed it but I'm going to put some miles on it to see if it stays the same. I'm also going to check that u joint when I get a chance. Nothing noteworthy in the rear diff. Everything looked fine and the magnet had the typical amount of metal on it.

Did you ever figure out what the ticking noise was in video as I have the same issue a video sounds the same. Haven’t done anything yet to it but saw this thread an was hopeful for a result lol.

yeah not a clue. if I back up straight for a bit and don't immediately turn it doesn't seem to do it. I don't have a clue. It's strange.
