This guy has connections to new shipping damaged vehicles, and usually has several engines on hand with well under a 100 clics/60 miles on them,if anybody in Western Canada is looking for a complete engine.

Don't know about you fellas up there, but down here in the states those trucks have to be reallllly wrecked to be junked. Damage happens, they repair it, and usually disclose it when it''s sold (The dishonest ones don't). Not saying that's chop-shop stuff because I know Canadians as a whole are more honest than some of America...But if that were down here, I'd not touch it.

These are damaged long before they get to a dealer, and have had the vins removed by Ma Mopar, and have to be parted out,he can't sell them as a truck/vehicle. He had a TRX with less then 30 kilometers on it awhile ago ,that he was parting out,but he wanted $25,000 for the engine, and another $10,000 for the transmission/transfer case,so it took him a bit to sell those.
He's not a chop shop,as he advertizes on both facebook and market place, and the cops would of shut him down along time ago,lol

you'd think thered be a better market for the 6.4 than the 5.7s

i got two of the 5.7s, and the one in my wifes grocery getter does allright, but the one in my truck is a little anemic

He gets the complete truck, not just the engine. When he has a 3/4 ton,he lists it,but they don't show up near as often.

These are definitely not stolen,i've met the guy a couple times, and he's not a chop shop,so give up on thinking they're stolen. Chrysler ships the vehicles to him, minus the vins,so they can't be resold.

Out of curiosity, is there a way to get an assigned VIN for a rebuilt/homebuilt vehicle in Canada? If so, do the rules vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction? It would be possible here to sell the whole vehicle. You'd have to do a salvaged rebuilt title and apply for a "Special VIN", but it's doable. Typically takes weeks to months, though.

Takes a day in Florida. They also like to play the "state roulette" game down here. Run it through GA, LA, then FL until the title comes out clean with no attachments. You know those kit cars that resemble the 60's Cobras? I know guys that have them titled as 1960's cars. Flood cars? Clean titles.

I've never looked into it,but there's quite a few kit cars and home built hot rods on the road,so i'm assuming there's a way to get a vin and legally register them

If this guy is legit then he would be an idiot for selling them whole. That will get him in so much trouble he would never get another one. My company buys thousands of these every year from every OEM. They all have very strict requirements on what has to be done with them. Any violation of those requirements will have him out of that program so fast he wouldn't know what happened.

There was a time when those seriously damaged vehicles were donated to schools and colleges.

One of the local police departments has a factory damaged 08 Challenger that Ma Mopar donated to them years ago,to use as a drag car. The car was free ,only caveat was they had to go to Ontario to pick it up

US prices for new crate Hemi's from Mopar: 5.7L $5,744, 6.4L $8,045, 6.2L Supercharged $16,827
If you're not buying new, find an established rebuilder. Half the price, similar warranty.

You might want to re-read the first post,as i'm not sure you caught the part about "Western Canada", US prices don't mean squat up here, lol
