IIRC, I thought I saw a date inside of 1939 but, it has been a few years since I've had it open.

They're quite an impressive device for the day.
A cast aluminum body with a stamped steel base and what appears to be leather-coated feet.

And the dial assembly is so smooth compared to the type 500-style phone sets like the tb56 pic. It sounds almost like a clock when using the dial.

It weighs 6 pounds. LOL

Is yours the same colour scheme?

.
You got me curious about it now , it’s on one of the shelves in my garage . I thought it was just made of some sort of heavy plastic , never paid much attention to it , other then it having epoxy on it . It’s heavy for sure . It’s very similar to what you posted if I remember. Haven’t looked at it in years . I’ve had it for 24 years since we moved my mother-in-law out of her home when she sold it .

Oh sorry , didn’t see the moderator comment on getting back on topic . Was this about cell phones , not old rotary phones . :dogpile:

I had to test the phone case with a magnet because it felt too heavy to be aluminum.

Mine came from my Grandfather and I added a modular plug so it could be used as an extra basement phone, years ago before cordless took over the phone world.

Please don't forget that the source of the information you seek is as important as the information you receive. There seems to be an overabundance of experts on some forums.

It's akin to the news media when there is some disaster or other huge event! Have you ever notice that these "experts" seemingly crawl out from under a rock? LOL! ;)

IMHO an expert is anyone with a briefcase that is 50 miles away from home LOL- It doesn't take long here to be able to distinguish the people that really know what they are talking about and the "computer experts". Hopefully, you can do that before you do any damage to your truck.

I agree and I did keep trying to steer back.. “thanks guys but I am only looking for recommendations for semi metallic” and did that a few times throughout the thread.
duckman631, WE seemed to have lost you a week ago, I did post a picture of mine with the black pulled off , and then we got side tracked.
Steering back is like trying to herd a gaggle of cats , not a change in hell.
But there is nothing worth watching on TV , so I don't worry about it.

BTW ,I had a candle stick phone, but one of G.kids liked it, it was solid brass.
Went nice with the French desk clock, cica 1912

They put Ceramic pads and HD rotors on our county vehicles (F150's with 5.oL motors). We were running them so hard and braking so hard the rotors would heat up and "melt" the Ford Plastic Center Pieces. But unfortunately, not sure if everyone understood U had to initially burn in them pads to the rotor, LOL. Running 85-99 mph all the time, not take long for stuff to heat up and get brake fade on OEM pads.

The ceramics are great, but the break in procedure is essential. I have the Power Stops and this truck stops better than any truck I ever owned.

As for the best brake pads i dont have a answer because i dont know i just use what i use autozone used to have lifetime pads so you use them then swap them for new for free not sure if they caught on to their mistake yet but more recently ive been using power stop pads from rock auto never had an issue with them and i recommend them to anyone they work great for daily driving but i have no input as far as towing
