My buddy hates his new f250, and I was surprised how much this auto stop sucks, it slammed on the brakes because he drove past a bush, and twice more on a trip across town. Makes all kinds of freaking beeps and warnings he cant read. He paid 80k because he got it in Montana, it is 110 here in CA, and it's a piece of isht.
Yeah all this "safety" bs they put on modern vehicles is ridiculous. And its just more stuff to break. It really is terrifying when the ABS module applies the brakes instantly at 100%.

My dd 16 Nissan Rogue has the forward collision warning system. It will start beeping when someone is turning onto a side road and the system thinks I'm not braking enough. If it really thinks a collision is immanent it just slams the brakes on. That only happened once thankfully.

Now I turn it off every time I drive it.

Sounds similar to my daughter's Momma's Subaru Outback Limited with its Eye-Sight system combined with everything other dang driver assist and warning systems attached to it.

It's constantly yelling at me with lights, sounds, vibrating steering wheel, and brakes being applied. You should hear our conversations when I'm driving it alone... ;)

I already told him about that thanks to you informing us when you did. He is deciding between the cp3 upgrade or the fix kit that protects the engine. But, now I am wondering if he will own it for that long. Pete the owner is the original mr fix it, literally yesterday he was repairing some plumbing at my house that was above my pay grade, dude shows up with two pipe wrenches and a roll of Teflon and 5 minutes and a new pipe later I got no mo problems. He us as old school as old school gets, he got fined from the city for having two many used cars on his land = near 20, lol. BUT, he never had a new vehicle and he went f250 as his mom passed and left him the abibilty to not worry about money, but I'm telling you this truck is just f'n that stupid. If it ain't talking to him and slamming on the brakes, it's throwing error messages. It sure does drive nice when the brakes ain't being slammed, I'm gonna tell him you can shut that auto stop off, but I doubt he keeps it that long. My sister in law bought a new civic, it's the same isht different day, man I HATE new vehicles period. My wife wants a new rav 4, I've already told her, yeah he are keeping the old one and throwing a cover on it.

CP3 is a no-go, it won't fit in Ferd's mounting location. S&S has their DCR pump kit, but I totally get what you are saying. I despise the nanny crap as much or more than anyone. I'll do the driving, thanks!

Any yaw'll ever set fence posts with gravel or drain rock? I'm so tired of dk'n with concrete I think I'm gonna try it. Which pebble or drain rock the best? How wide of hole, smaller or larger compared to 4x4? The "plan" go deep and thin like 6 inch, I have 3 bits on auger, 6,8,10. Maybe 10 better? I'm doing another rock project so I will have yards of 3/4 on site.

We had nothing to do with the CP4 fuel pump. That's all on you guys (cummins and/or bosch) and upper management

Back in the day we used Stanadyne as we were the rouge division of Cummins (power generation). They didn't understand us and eventually forced Bosch down our throats, who we had thrown out. They really showed us.
Fuching morons. So glad to be gone from there.

The DCR pump conversion kit developed by S&S is based on a Stanadyne pump. If I was forced to own a powerjoke (better chance of being struck by lightning three days in a row) that is the only way I'd go.

I still use Stanadyne diesel additive as a periodic maintenance item, not every tank.

These crazy phenoms are not really new.... Let me share one with you.
Back in the late 80's, I was working on a rather fancy Chrysler 5TH Avenue car. It was a 1985 model.
I got into the car and started the ignition. (Keep in mind that this was the first rattle out of the bag that morning and before I'd had adequate coffee!). There was a baritone voice over the sound system speakers that sounded, for all intents and purposes, like Sam Elliot. This voice instructed me to fasten my seatbelt, which I did.

This is where it got hoaky/ Twilight Zone-ish: After buckling the seat belt, aforementioned baritone voice said "Thank You!". Having been devoid of my normal caffeine, I automatically responded "You're Welcome"!

At that point, I realized just how ludicrous automation was/is. ...and it is light years advanced from THAT technology.

Be thankful the "voice" wasn't Clint Eastwood and saying: "Go ahead, make my day. Do you feel lucky punk?".

The new gas tank warning lights tell you what side of the car the gas door is on, lol. I wouldn't mind a red fox voice telling me get gas you big dummy. Great thing about Costco, it doesn't matter what side your tank is on.

Brother, you've just brought back a huge great memory for me!

My Nan, back in the day had this exact vehicle, and she named the voice in her car, Charlie.
He would natter about and my Nan would say, shut up Charlie, I'm a grown woman and know how to drive...lol.
The conversations these two had were priceless!

This was also the same Nan that purchased a new 90's white Oldsmobile Cutlas Calais convertible off the lot and drove it till the engine seized. Factoring in though that she never checked the oil level, and never changed the oil either in its life...lol. She didn't own it a long time :rotflmao:

GM was making some seriously bad engines back then.

Remember the all aluminum HT4100 V-8 in the Cadilliac? People paid a fortune for those cars, only to have the mains crap out between 25K and 50K miles.

Of course, there was the great V8-6-4 before that, or the diesel made from an Oldsmobile V-8 gas engine.

Or, when GM started putting Chevy engines in any car it would fit, no matter the brand. My cousin bought a new Pontiac, and was ticked when he got it home, started really looking at the engine, and it was a Chevy.
