Can anyone enlighten me with the location of the transfer case position sensor? Is it under the transfer case motor assembly? From the triangle bolt pattern of the sensor online, it looks like it matches the triangle pattern of the transfer case motor.

Thanks,

Robert

I thought it was part of the whole encoder assembly.

Yeah it has to be. If you have the motor off and put it in any selection it says you're in that gear. So yes it definately is part of the motor assembly.

Thanks guys, I was going nuts on this. There isn't any real info on this online and the only electrical input seems to be the motor assembly. Time to buy a manual I guess.

Yeah the only connections are the shift motor it's self and the wire to the back of the t case which is your clutch. Let me know how it goes.

Finally got it all back and functioning. Discovered that the sensor in my 2012 Ram 1500 Sport is built into the transfer case shift motor. Only real pain was removing the clutch wire from the plug on the old motor.
