Guys,

My key FOB for 2014 RAM sport with a PUSH BUTTON start stopped working for last few months. I changed battery and cleaned with alochol and nothing happens. With the Key, I can still start the car, but lock/unlock does not work at all (or) Randomly works once in a blue moon. Can i reprogram the key or how can i fix this?

Today i tried with my spare key and works fine including remote start and all.

The following steps did not do anything as i have a pushbutton start.
-----------------------------------------
Worked on my 2014... Follow these steps.
Unlock doors manually.
Turn ON hazards.
Hold the lock on the fob for 5 sec.
Now put the key fob into ignition and turn to ON position.
Click unlock on the fob that's in the ignition. You should hear it unlock!!
Turn vehicle off and turn hazards off(unless you want to drain your battery.)
----------------------------------------
Help appreciated,
N

If they look like this:

Then it is most likely that it is getting worn out. My 08 Charger has this style of fob, and the lock/unlock buttons, sometimes I have to push it a couple of different times to get it to work right...the two halves almost separate too and the key inside falls out on it's own without using the slide lock on the front.

I had this style fob on my 18 Ram and had to watch closely that I didn't bang it around. The newer style "square" fob is much better.

Being that it's just one of your fobs that doesn't work, I'm guessing you need a new one. People have used AlfaOBD to add new fobs, you'll need get the pin number from the dealer (or use a pin pulling app) to be able to program the new one to the truck.

Replaced mine last week, same thing happened to me but I got water in mine so fried the circuit board inside. When I went to the dealer they wanted $200 for the fob so I got it off of Ebay for same price as above from Amazon. Then bought it to dealer to have it programmed.

Before you do anything else, split the FOB case open over something like a sheet of paper, lift out the circuit board out, look at the contact points to see if they are dirty or loose
You can watch how this guy fixes a FOB

Does your vehicle have Air Suspension ?

If so, look at these prices, there are new & refurbished OEM Fobs
