So Alpha OBD works on newer trucks, but not my 04. Is there anything like it for the older trucks like mine? Anyone know?

jscan says it works for 2006, you could try the free version see if it will do what you need.

I already have it. Tried it for fun. 2004 is not an option. There's no canbus so it won't work

No, because PCI bus doesn't work that way lol. There is no turning stuff on or enabling it. Just out of curiosity, what were you hoping to do?

jscan says it works for 2006, you could try the free version see if it will do what you need.
That's because your truck has CAN (first year in Rams for it) but even then is limited.

Your options on vehicles of that age are heavily dependant on what it is you are trying to do. They were controlled completely different than the vehicles of today.

The best you can do is get a DRBIII or compatible scanner and you can do stuff like change some user settings (light duration on shut off, horn honk, etc) and use it for diagnostics and/or a quick learn when you eventually have to replace your RFE.
