The battery on my 2019 Ram 1500 Limited crapped out on me yesterday after owning it since brand new (approx 3 yrs 9 months). I found a decent replacement at Costco for $185, so I pulled the battery out of the truck and drove down to Costco in my other vehicle to swap them out. Got home and installed the battery (very easy). Truck started right up, and immediately noticed the "check engine" light illuminated. I also noticed that none of my cameras were working in reverse or drive. All I had was a blue screen with "cameras not available" across the top.
I tried a bunch of different things...all to no avail. Finally, I came across a post in the Ram TRX forum about a soft reset to the UConnect system that I hadn't seen before. It went like this:
1. With the doors closed, start the vehicle.
2. Push and hold the "phone" and "voice recognition" buttons at the same time on the steering wheel for 30 seconds.
3. Release the buttons and shut off the vehicle.
4. Open the driver's door and leave open until the lights go out.
End of procedure. I started up my truck again, and the check engine light was gone, as was the blue screen with "cameras not available." Everything functioned normally. I was ready to go to the dealer, if this didn't work, and was quite shocked and pleased when it did. Just thought I'd pass it on.
