CCV Filter

What trips the “Perform Service” message? Is it just mileage? Os is there some performance algorithm? I had the CCV filter replaced while the truck was in for an oil change at about 125,000 miles. I knew it should be close, so I pulled the trigger before I got the “Perform Service” message. Now, about 5,000 miles later, the message has popped up. Does the truck know something I don’t? Or is it okay to just reset the message since it was not actually reset when the service was performed?

Most of those service messages are based on mileage. I would say you would be ok to reset it.
