Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone with a ‘19+ Classic looking to install a HD CHMSL with the cargo camera. After some testing, I have confirmed that certain software versions on the UAS/UAQ radios actually move the camera inputs on the back of the radio.
The normal cargo camera inputs are position 24, 25, and 26 on the main C1 radio connector. However, if your UAS/UAQ is in software version 28.3 or above, the inputs are moved to positions 21, 22, and 23.
This is specific to the classic rams only. The newer software versions are reading the vehicle year off of the BCM and since anything with a cargo camera is supposed to be a 2500+ (was never an option for a 1500), the software moves the input positions to the 5th gen input locations (because if it’s a 2019+ with a cargo camera it must be a 5th gen). I’ve confirmed the software is looking at the vehicle year because when I change the year to 2018, the 4th gen input locations work again.
