What is now currently "pushed" as "4th gen" is probably more like 12th gen as Dodge trucks go... I get SO TIRED of the 81-93 being called "1st gen". They are far from that.
I mean c'mon Dodge started building trucks around 1920 not 1980 like the "gen" thing would lead many to think

FYI.
The term "First Gen" is from the fact it was the the first generation a diesel engine was offered. So of course people associate the term with that body style, whether it's gas or a good truck (diesel).

The Dodge truck for 1933 was restyled and re-engineered. These trucks started a letter designation for the series. 1933 was the HC, and the "C" remained in use up to WWII, ending with the WC series model designations.

Ha! True.

Almost as confusing to what GM has done to the V8 RPOs. Gen I, II, III. LS based being the latter and II was the LT. Now we are back on using LT in the Gen V.

I'm currently shopping for a "LS" gen 3 or 4 to do a motor swap and the volume of differentiation is hurting my brain... does not take much.

So my grandpa back in the 80s did a Chevy version of this. It was a SWB 46 so interesting fact you may or may not know. GM stop producing vehicles after 41 and did not start again until 46. He had a very nice 40 pickup and then he built the 46 Panel van to cruise. My grandparents put a lot of miles on it. He sold everything off when he got older. Next time I visit I will take some picture of the ones he had.
