I was just building the RAM 1500 online and the RamBox is a $995 upgrade but when you add it actually adds on $1500 to the total even though it shows $995. I was at $66,040 before adding the RamBox, after adding the RamBox it equaled $67,535. Where it should have been: $67,035.

I think RAM really messed up on their pricing and I think it may be incorrect on their stickers as well. Also the Limited has only one engine option which is the V8 so that should be standard why do you pay $1195 to upgrade to the standard engine? The only upgrade should be the $800 to get to e-torque. I think RAM is price gauging their customers, and customers are not realizing.

The base v8 of 1195 is already included in the MSRP. Also the ram boxes only add 995. I just did it. Nothing to see here folks.

I did not experience this when I was building my RAM to get pricing ideas. Also, they have decent rebates, both at the manufacturer and dealership level, for being a month old truck. There may have been something else added - a lot of these options require other equipment which must be added with your choice (such as specific rims for specific tires).

You can't trust the build and price website for anything.... they had it all screwed up a couple of years ago when the new Challengers came out.

or could it be Russian Collusion?????

You are right. Only if that is the only option you add. But if you add several upgrades then you notice the price goes up by $1500 instead of $995. I have attached pictures as proof on the online builder as well as my spec and also where if I add RamBox it adds $1500 to my price.

I’d build on a computer because the mobile site isn’t the best with notifications and I’d also take the website with a grain of salt. At a dealership, it is only going to add that exact amount, you can see it on the window sticker.

No it’s not pull any window sticker off a Ram 1500 limited and you will see it’s added to the base price. I have attached a picture of a Ram 1500 limited sticker as proof.

I think if you check on your PC with the same options you would get the same final price because I had built it on my PC before and I ended up at the same final number.

For S&G I just built one and only added the RAM Box upgrade. Only increased the price by the $995 it says. Something else is interacting there.

All the 4x4's base prices are based off the V6, which in the case of the Laramie you can't have so it increases the price by $1,195.00. It's not FCA trying to screw you....

That’s correct if the only option you add is RamBox then it only adds $995. Soon as you start adding several options and you can take a look at the picture above from my build and you will see after I added several options the Ram option upgrade ends up costing you $1500 instead of $995, even though it still says $995. You can see pics of my build above.

The base engine on the limited is the V8. If you take a look at the sticker it says the V8 is part of the standard configuration then they charge you $1195 for the engine again in optional equipment.

Right because it’s probably adjusting other options that aren’t available with the RAM box.

No, it isn’t charging you for the engine. It is charging you for those two additional features listed below the engine. Those aren’t standard.

No, it is still an extra up charge even though you have no option to keep the V6.... it even shows it on the build website as costing $1,195. If you build a V6 Big Horn, it doesn't show anything like that for an add for the V6 because that is the base and it costs the same extra $1,195 for the V8.

If you try and build a Big Horn it even says "STANDARD" next to the V6.... it doesn't say that on the truck you are building cuz it a mandatory upgrade.

No, it's not charging you for the 2 things listed below.... if you look at the details for the V8 it shows those as included with the V8. They are standard!!!

I'm sure you are right on the difference being that he also has the bed cover and bed utility group, which would be different with the rambox compared to a standard bed.

I just built your exact truck and I got the same error of the price increasing more than it should. That seems like a system error as doing the math manually does not equal the net price shown.

He added the eTorque engine.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The e-torque engine is $800 more but both V8 engines are priced as options on the limited even though the only engine option upgrade should be to add e-torque for $800. Ram’s doing this to offset their rebate pricing I believe or just waiting for enough people to call them out on it.

After the posts in this thread, I checked my window sticker (and several others) and stimpy is correct. The HEMI, regardless of configuration, is added as an upgrade. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but his explanation makes sense (even though the engine price should have been built into our base price)
