Alright so after my fuel pump issue I'm thinking about getting rid of the truck but this vehicle really mean a lot to me and I'm having some major problems just popping up. I just had my rear diff gasket give out so changed it with the fluid and I think I may have found a nightmare before I get rid of it I would like some insight. There was a metallic slurry on what I think is a magnet and I found some damage as well please don't tell me I'm screwed I currently am not having problems as far as noise and such but I don't know if I should expect it now I attached some photos everyone's insight is welcome and appreciated.1000008952.jpg1000008951.jpg1000008954.jpg

The photo with metal piece is from drain pan. I don't know where the metal piece came from but as you can see I do have some broken teeth on the main gear there

You have a AAM differential
American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc., headquartered in Detroit, Michigan

This video is just a quick film on a 2008 Dodge Ram rear differential

This is a better video, first part is detailed disassembly
