The RP 20-820 fit in my 19' and fits in my 23'.
There is a wire loom that it tucked right beside the oil filter.
You'll have to finagle it up and out of the way to get the 20-820 to fit.
Just ensure it doesn't get pinched when tightening up the oil filter.
Good looking out and thanks for the tip and verification.

Thanks to hurting my brain and reading 120+ pages, I can share this is the solid answer on size differences:

The 20-820 is as good as it gets for anyone wanting to maximize filter media area (roughly correlated with canister volume). For once I'm lucky, since the 20-500 won't fit my 5th gen.

I had an typo. My RAM is year model 2017.

Greetings from Southern WI. Say I've read a lot of threads regarding motor oil and oil filters. I can't help but notice that during the discussions no one has made mention of an oil called
Brad Penn. If I could ask what is the correct part number for a top of line Fram filter. XG10060?
2020 5.7 2wd thanks .

I owe an apology.

I've never looked at my oil filter from the top and only the bottom. I figured I did not have the oil heat exchanger as I'm able to get the filter in well enough.

I do have the oil heat exchanger. And I am able to fit the fe2 so the RP 20-820 should fit. I do have 4wd as well.

I am certain those who cannot make it fit are coming at it from the back side. I've only changed my filters from the front.

The real difficulty is not from the wire loom for me. It is from the two transmission lines.

Edit: I should add that the transmission lines are only in the way when using a larger tool to remove the filter.

The only time you should ever need a tool is the first change from gorilla handed dealer, from then on hand tight and loose imo.

Yeah the 20-820 will fit, if they ever are stocked again, which who knows on that.

Agreed.... and F..c--u_K.._-er..//s who destroyed the RP availability we all so loved!
Way to kill a great thing and all but eradicate the RP 20-820 oil filter for us commoners!

I covet my 12 reaming 20-820 oil filters.... ;)
I still maintain I should have bought 30 when I last ordered from RP Direct @ $11.99 USD per filter.. I could kick my own a-r__s...E for that!

I ordered 2 of the older 3/4-16 filter nipples for the cars, but now i see they've priced the 30-8 filters to stupid level, even worse then the 20-820's. The cars have lots of room to run these old style monster filters, but damn RP has put a big dent in my plans, the ********,lol.

I tell ya fellas I have seen this so much lately it is more easier to find companies that still offer full lineups then those who went away from what they do. Obviously RP filters sell like hot cakes, they have put a ton of very successful effort into design and marketing, and now I wouldn't doubt they are on the chopping block. Only had one restock, likely a couple pallets that they never sold through most of their retailers, only summit and direct and maybe O'Reilley's. Not many of their filters are reading out of stock.
