I am about to replace the tires. I have a few questions re the TP sensors.
1. How are they mounted inside the tire?

2. If the new tire is not mounted in the same position as the old one will the sensor and indicator learn that position. Should I insist the new tire be replaced in the same position as the old tire?

3. Is there anything else I should be aware of regarding the sensors in this situation.

Are you saying the sensor will be attached to the "new" valve stem? TIA

So, like John said. TPMS is NOT position sensitive and will relearn their postion automatically. Some of the older models did require a TPMS reset after rotation of tire or a tire and pressure change. Whoever installs the tires should easily know how to do that.

Most TPMS sensors are part of the valve steam, a very few others of the older type are not.
