I am in the market for a 180 degree thermostat.I ordered a Jet Performance thermostat.I read Mopar has one but I can't order it as I found only one on an American website that doesn't ship to Canada. When I tried it was about $200.00,because of the excahnge rate and shipping.I bought the Jet Performance for 100 bucks,in Canada, still pricey.
Anyone on the forum have a 180 thermostat they are confident with, meaning reliability. From reading you cannot beat the quality of OEM,that each car company makes for it 's own vehicle(unless we are talking recent early twin turbo sixes).
I have a 2023 Classic 5.7.I just want a thermostat to compliment my 93tune.I already adjusted my fans.
From reading articles,I am left with the impression aftermarket units do NOT last as long as the hemi oem unit, rated at 10years.
There are many 180's to choose, and some have better ratings overall, but they all seems to have higher failure rates than oem.
I just would hate to overheat my motor with one episode of thermostat failure.
Twenty or forty years ago it was common to change out thermostats every other rad flush that was common every two years. Those intervals do not exist anymore.
I want to hear suggestions from anyone who has one to recommend.
