Hello,

Have a 2016 Ram 2500 Outdoorsman 6.4 L auto 4WD completely stock - 130,000 Kms

When sitting at a stop light have habit of shifting trans to neutral to eliminate drag of torque convertor on engine.
When truck is cold , no issue. When truck is warm/hot, idle in neutral is unstable (like a hunting governor) and engine stalls after 10 - 20 seconds. If shifted to Park or Drive before it stalls it idles just fine.
Will idle in neutral in 4WD Low but engine idle speed is increased by software.
No codes or other indicating issues.

Had truck to two different Dodge dealers while in warranty both had no idea of root cause, updated software but no change. one criticized me for abnormal use of truck (shifting into neutral when stopped ???)

Would appreciate any suggestions of where to look for root cause.

Thank You

Not sure of what could be the cause i am sure others will chime in. However I will say i have never heard of anyone doing this my personal opinion is shifting it in and out that many times at every light may not be good.
