Was wondering if anyone had any experience with the new engine. Had my 22 in for routine service and crossed paths with the salesman who sold it to me. He was pushing the 25’s hard. 99% sure I don’t want to be a Guinea Pig for the Hurricane I-6 but would like to know about any real world experiences before switching to GMC.

Sorry to hear about your issue, I hope they get it sorted out soon.

I'm not surprised they're pushing the hell out of the new I-6, without the Hemi and no cars to sell (Challenger, Charger, 300) they are probably desperate to sell anything at this point.

Thank you for taking one for the team. Know that all your headaches go toward the aiding rest of us not buying one of these newly formed POS's. Check back when you find a tech that knows where to start, and how to repair.

My son has leased a 2025 Bighorn, so far he says all good to go,. Guess time will tell.

ADDED: They R real desperate to sell. They got the SST 2025's knocked down from 63 to 50 here. Lonestar trim.

CAVEAT: I have watched a lot of video's on the 25's to include TFL's. More power and TQ but they R quiet as a mouse, AND they do not offer the HO motor on the lower trims, U gotta go way up like Limited or Tungsten to get the HO motor. IMHO, that be a big mistake.

So sorry to hear. The Engine light on my 22 Laramie came on within 100 miles of me driving it off the lot, brand new. Only 3 miles on it when I purchased it. Swapped injectors and replaced O2 sensors. Transmission chugs, tugs and gets stuck transitioning gears still to this day. Ended up dinging the front and back ends when the "chug and tug" overrode park assist. It was in the shop more than I drove it during first 60 days of ownership. Hard shifts out of park. But at least they got the engine light to finally turn off. Uconnect works about 60% of the time. Wireless phone charging pad has never worked.

They have been in the Jeep Grand Cherokee for a while.

I had similar issue with my 2025 Laramie 1500 I purchased in beginning of June. The error code message came on and then would go away. The dealership did a quick check and said it was something with the Bluetooth, maybe a loose wire. The dealership couldn't get me in for at least 2 to 3 weeks. I purchased a OBD Link to monitor. This past Thursday (7/18/2024), with only 3216 miles on her, one of the turbos blew out. It was epic. The quick snapping of metal, the amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust from the burned oil was biblical. Oh, I laugh about it now. BTW, my OBD and the mechanics' show no error codes other then lost of compression in holes 1, 2 and 3.

I am a first time RAM owner, is this normal?

No, you are first time all new product tester!!
There is nothing new on that truck. The engine is in it's third year, the transmission is proven, the rest of the vehicle is basically the same as the 5th gens. With that said, are you implying it is a mistake to purchase a RAM product?

Same here. 2025 1500 Big Horn. Check engine light came on, Odometer is flashing and Uconnect works when it wants to. 3,200 miles on it thinking this was a mistake.

I’m a perfectionist. I want things to function the way they are supposed to. It’s engraved in my dna and how I was raised. I can’t imagine shelling out this kind of money for a truck to have these issues after only a few months. I’m sorry for the troubles you’re going through. Is Ram ownership and brand loyalty going to suffer as a result of these government regulations? A twin turbo 6cyl was great for my wife’s BMW 535, but in what world does that work for a full size pickup? Sorry to be political, but elections and policies matter when it hits you in the wallet.

As a result of them not continuing to offer a V8 when both major competitors do? Probably.

If Ford and GMC can figure out how to keep V8s in trucks with the same government regulations, Ram should be able to as well. Instead they spent their R&D time/talent/treasure in things like the Ramcharger hybrid. Put the blame where it belongs, the management at Stellantis.

Agreed it is Stellantis, but me personally...I don't care if I have a V8, a small 6, a big cummins...whatever. I just want reliable and decent enough power to get the job done and fuel efficiency!!! My days of cummins powered trucks with bigger injectors, turbos and tuning with a bullet proof transmission are over!!! Although, I do miss the scream of the Cummins turbos and it launching you into the back of the seat while hitting the go pedal!!!!
